The TRUSS wine list lands like a confidence flex — 150 labels deep, anchored in Napa royalty but with enough Champagne firepower to make a grower-wine obsessive stop scrolling. This is a resort list that actually took the assignment seriously. It's also, let's be honest, priced for people who are already spending $800 a night on a room.
California Cabernet is the backbone here, and it's stacked: Joseph Phelps Insignia 2021, Harlan Estate 2018, Screaming Eagle 2020, Shafer Hillside Select 2013, and Dana Estates Hershey Vineyard 2020 at $1,545 — this is less a wine list and more a Napa hall of fame. The Champagne section is legitimately exceptional, pulling Krug Clos d'Ambonnay 2002, Salon Le Mesnil-sur-Oger 2013, Dom Pérignon P2 2002, and Bollinger R.D. 2007 — prestige cuvées that most restaurants treat as unicorns if they appear at all. Burgundy shows up with purpose: Maxime Cheurlin Noellat Morey-Saint-Denis Premier Cru 2022 and the jaw-dropping DRC Romanée-Conti Grand Cru 2022 at $35,250. The gaps are real — natural wine, domestic Pinot beyond ZD, and anything from the Loire or Rhône feel like afterthoughts — but within its lanes, the depth is hard to argue with.
Eighteen-plus by-the-glass options span the spectrum from entry-level pours to Coravin access on bottles you'd never otherwise crack open by the glass, including Joseph Phelps Insignia at $185 for 5 oz. The standard BTG range runs $18–$55, which is reasonable for the address. The Coravin program ($55–$95 per 2.5 oz) is the real flex — it lets you taste across the trophy tier without committing to a four-figure bottle.
Harvey & Harriet Paso Robles 2021 — $95/bottle
On a list where Caymus runs $320 and Silver Oak hits $765, this Paso Robles red at $95 is the rare moment TRUSS lets you off easy. It's not a flashy pick, but it's the closest thing to a fair-priced bottle on a list built for expense accounts.
Maxime Cheurlin Noellat Pinot Noir Les Monts Luisants Morey-Saint-Denis Premier Cru 2022
On a list dominated by Napa Cab and trophy Champagne, this Morey-Saint-Denis Premier Cru from a sharp young Burgundy producer gets overlooked. Most tables here are scanning for Screaming Eagle or Harlan — walk past them and grab this instead.
Veuve Clicquot Brut NV
You're in a restaurant that stocks Salon, Krug Clos d'Ambonnay, and Egly-Ouriet. Spending $225 on Veuve — a wine you can grab at a grocery store for $55 — is a waste of the room you're sitting in. Spend a little more and drink something the list actually earned.
Billecart-Salmon Brut Rosé NV + Dungeness Crab
Billecart's rosé is one of the more food-friendly bottles on the list — bright, precise, with enough red-fruit structure to handle sweet crab without steamrolling it. It's also the most approachable price point in the prestige Champagne tier at $275, which on this list qualifies as restrained.
🔥 The Bottom Line
TRUSS is a world-class trophy list wrapped in resort pricing — if someone else is paying, it's a bucket-list experience. If you're paying your own tab, go in with a plan, target the Champagne deep cuts, and don't touch the Veuve.

Castello di Amorosa is unabashedly a destination experience, and the wine list reflects that: captive audience, estate-only pours, pricing that leans on the setting as much as the wine. But the Italian-varietal focus is genuinely interesting, the courtyard is a legitimately great place to drink, and if you're already on Highway 29, there are worse ways to spend an afternoon.

The markups are real and the prices are not for the faint of wallet, but if you're going to drop serious money on wine anywhere in Napa Valley, this list at least earns the ask.
