The retro shell aesthetic is not a gimmick; it's the whole philosophy: irreverent, small-batch, and deliberately not what you came to Napa expecting. The list is short but every bottle feels like it was chosen with a point of view.
This is not a Cabernet-forward Napa showroom, and that's the entire point. Tank Garage leans hard into California oddities — a carbonic Gamay Noir, a sparkling Barbera, rotating orange and natural wine projects — sourced from interesting vineyards across the state rather than just the Napa valley floor. The list rotates frequently enough that what's on the menu this visit may be gone next month, which keeps things exciting but also means you can't plan too far ahead. There are gaps where classics would sit, but that feels intentional: this place has no interest in playing the hits.
The by-the-glass program punches above its weight for a small tasting room, offering somewhere between 8 and 15 pours depending on the current rotation. Tre Cose Belle
The MADE Club-only fiasco red is a cool concept and the packaging earns points, but if you're not a club member and you're paying walk-in prices for something this allocation-adjacent, you're essentially paying a premium for the story. Fun to try a taste, but don't blow your budget on a full bottle here.

Castello di Amorosa is unabashedly a destination experience, and the wine list reflects that: captive audience, estate-only pours, pricing that leans on the setting as much as the wine. But the Italian-varietal focus is genuinely interesting, the courtyard is a legitimately great place to drink, and if you're already on Highway 29, there are worse ways to spend an afternoon.
