Wingman Metrics
Dresden Tavern's wine list is exactly what you'd expect from a well-run neighborhood tavern — familiar labels, approachable prices, and zero intimidation factor. At 19 options all available by the glass, the whole list is built for accessibility, not adventure. It's the kind of list you can navigate in 30 seconds and still land on something decent.
The reds skew heavily California — Josh, Coppola, Quilt, Caymus, and The Prisoner are all present and accounted for, hitting every recognizable name on the American wine shelf. There's a lone Domaine Bousquet Malbec from Argentina gesturing toward international territory, and the whites cover Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Grigio, and Moscato without much surprise. Whispering Angel shows up in the rosé section, which is more aspirational than the rest of the list, and a Chenin Blanc is the one head-scratcher that doesn't quite fit the crowd-pleaser mold. Don't come looking for Burgundy or anything from the natural wine world — that's not what this place is doing.
All 19 wines are available by the glass, which is the whole program — there's no bottle list to speak of beyond what's poured. Prices run from $7 for Canyon Road Chardonnay up to $23 for the Orin Swift Abstract, covering a wide enough range for both the budget-conscious and anyone who wants to feel a little fancy on a Tuesday. Rotation doesn't appear to be a priority here; this reads as a set-it list.
The Bottom Line
Dresden Tavern isn't trying to be a wine destination, and that's fine — it's a neighborhood tavern doing neighborhood tavern things. The list is familiar, prices are fair for the format, and having the entire program available by the glass is genuinely useful. If you're here for a burger and a glass of something decent, the Domaine Bousquet Malbec or White Haven Sauv Blanc will take care of you without drama.

Confab's all-by-the-glass format is genuinely smart and removes the usual friction of wine list navigation. The pricing is fair across the board and the white and sparkling selections show real range — just don't come in expecting a serious red wine moment. If you're here for a couple of glasses with dinner, you'll leave happy.

Piedmont Park · Atlanta · Gastropub/Tavern
The Nook is a perfectly decent place to have a beer or a Ketel One sangria while watching the park — and honestly, that might be the move. The wine list is a collection of familiar labels marked up well past their worth, with no evidence of rotation, staff expertise, or curatorial effort. If wine is your priority tonight, keep walking.

Alici is doing something genuinely interesting with 25 bottles — leaning into high-acid, food-driven picks that make the seafood menu sing. We don't have price data to fully validate the value story, but the intentionality of this list is hard to ignore. If you're going for oysters, this wine program was built with you in mind.

Bangkok Station's wine list does the bare minimum — it has wine, it's mostly available by the glass, and nothing is undrinkable. But with markups that sting on recognizable bottles and zero creativity in selection for a cuisine that rewards adventurous pours, it's hard to get excited. Order the Rosé, enjoy the food, and don't overthink it.

Mali's wine list does what it sets out to do: keep everyone at the table from complaining. It's familiar, approachable, and almost entirely devoid of surprise. If you're here for the food — which you probably should be — grab the Willamette Valley Pinot, stay out of the Cab deep end, and focus on what's coming out of the kitchen.

Vesper is a reliable pour — a wine bar with a short, approachable list, fair pricing, and a by-the-glass program that's genuinely one of its strongest assets. The Penfolds Bin 389 at $22 a glass and the Vina Pomal Reserva at $13 are both smart pours worth seeking out. It's not destination wine drinking, but it's honest, and in Atlanta, that's enough to earn a repeat visit.

· Roswell · Gastropub/Tavern
Westfield Tavern's wine list is exactly what a good neighborhood gastropub wine list should be — accessible, fairly priced, and heavy on by-the-glass options so you're never stuck ordering a full bottle of something mediocre. It won't dazzle anyone looking for discovery, but if you're in Roswell and want a solid pour of R. Stuart Pinot without getting gouged, this place earns the trip.

· Alpharetta · Gastropub/Tavern
Taffer's Tavern Alpharetta isn't trying to impress wine people, and that's fine — it's a gastropub with a crowd-pleasing list built for guests who want a bottle they already know. If you're with a table full of Caymus fans, everyone goes home happy. If you're hoping for something interesting or fairly priced, the Greywacke is your best play and then let it go.

Bernie's isn't trying to be a wine destination, and it doesn't need to be — what it does is offer a clean, fairly priced list where the Dr. Loosen Riesling alone is worth the stop. If you're in Kennesaw and want a decent glass without paying downtown Atlanta markups, this does the job honestly.
