Wingman Metrics
Fifteen labels. That's the whole list. At a Thai restaurant with presumably bold, complex flavors on the plate, the wine program reads like something assembled from a regional distributor's starter pack — recognizable names, safe choices, no surprises.
The list splits neatly into whites, rosé, sparkling, and reds, which sounds organized until you realize there's almost nothing here that would actually cut through lemongrass or fish sauce with any elegance. Kim Crawford Sauvignon Blanc and Luna Nuda Pinot Grigio cover the 'bright white' lane, but there's no Riesling, no Grüner Veltliner, no Txakoli — nothing that wine-curious Thai food lovers would actually seek out. The red side leans heavily Californian, with Caymus, DAOU, and Underwood doing the heavy lifting. The sole curveball is Chateau de Berne Romance Méditerranée Rosé, a Provence-adjacent bottle from the Var that at least gestures toward something food-friendly. Plum Wine rounds it out as the single nod to Asian wine culture.
Thirteen of fifteen labels pour by the glass, which is genuinely impressive for a list this size — almost everything is accessible without committing to a bottle. Glass prices run $12 to $19, but when a $14 glass of Kim Crawford Sauvignon Blanc points to a $52 bottle that retails around $15, the math gets uncomfortable fast. The Moët bottles don't pour by the glass at all, sitting at $99 each as the list's flex play.
The Bottom Line
Bangkok Station's wine list does the bare minimum — it has wine, it's mostly available by the glass, and nothing is undrinkable. But with markups that sting on recognizable bottles and zero creativity in selection for a cuisine that rewards adventurous pours, it's hard to get excited. Order the Rosé, enjoy the food, and don't overthink it.

Mali's wine list does what it sets out to do: keep everyone at the table from complaining. It's familiar, approachable, and almost entirely devoid of surprise. If you're here for the food — which you probably should be — grab the Willamette Valley Pinot, stay out of the Cab deep end, and focus on what's coming out of the kitchen.

Vesper is a reliable pour — a wine bar with a short, approachable list, fair pricing, and a by-the-glass program that's genuinely one of its strongest assets. The Penfolds Bin 389 at $22 a glass and the Vina Pomal Reserva at $13 are both smart pours worth seeking out. It's not destination wine drinking, but it's honest, and in Atlanta, that's enough to earn a repeat visit.

Garden & Gun Club's wine list is exactly what it wants to be: accessible, fairly priced, and loaded with names people recognize. It won't challenge anyone, but it won't embarrass anyone either — and with 16 options by the glass, it's a legitimately good list for a group with mixed tastes. Send a friend here who wants to drink well without doing homework.

Crave isn't trying to be a wine destination, and the list makes that clear. But with fair glass prices, full by-the-glass availability, and a couple of genuinely solid picks like the Calera Pinot Noir, it does its job without embarrassing anyone. If you're here for the food and want a reasonable glass to go with it, you'll be fine — just don't show up expecting regional wines to match the cuisine.

Underground Atlanta · Atlanta · Other
Utopia isn't trying to be a wine destination, and the list makes that abundantly clear. If you're here for brunch and mimosas are your goal, fine — but if you want an actual wine experience, Underground Atlanta is not your stop. Order the Prosecco, skip the tower, and adjust expectations accordingly.

Upper Westside · Atlanta · New American/Southern
The Corner Grille Upper Westside keeps its wine program simple, accessible, and mostly fairly priced — this is a neighborhood spot that wants to feed you well and keep your glass full, not win any awards for its cellar. If you're here for Southern comfort food and want an easy, no-fuss glass of wine alongside it, the Septima Malbec or Michel Thomas Sancerre will do the job. Skip the Meiomi, order another appetizer, and let the kitchen do the heavy lifting.

Silom Thai & Sushi Bar clearly has its priorities elsewhere, and that's fine — the food may well be the reason to visit. But the wine list is an afterthought: overpriced crowd-pleasers with no soul and no connection to the cuisine they're supposed to accompany. Order the Chablis if you must, or skip wine entirely and find a better drink on the cocktail or sake menu.

Galleria · Atlanta · Asian
Osha Thai Sushi Galleria's wine list is exactly what it needs to be — accessible, fairly priced, and available almost entirely by the glass. It won't impress a wine nerd, but it won't embarrass anyone either. If you're here for the food, the El Terrano Albariño or Louis Jadot Gamay will carry you through dinner without drama.

Kirin House is a hibachi spot that happens to sell wine, not a restaurant that thinks about wine. The markups are aggressive, the selection is mass-market, and there's no sign anyone on staff was asked to care. Order a Japanese beer or a cocktail — you'll be better off.
