Wingman Metrics
Walk into Bernie's and the wine list doesn't try to be anything it's not — 19 bottles, all available by the glass, priced between $7 and $16 a pour. For a gastropub in Kennesaw, that's a genuinely functional setup, and the pricing doesn't make you wince.
The list leans heavily on approachable, recognizable labels — Raeburn, Boen, The Prisoner's Unshackled line — the kind of wines that play well to a crowd that wants something decent without a lot of drama. There's a pleasant breadth across whites: Vinho Verde from Animus, a Dr. Loosen Riesling, and an Alois Lageder Pinot Grigio give the white side more range than you'd expect from a bar menu. Reds skew California-heavy with a couple of outliers — Vina Albali Tempranillo and a Chateau de Fontenille Bordeaux add some Old World texture to what's otherwise a coast-to-coast Cab parade. Gaps are obvious: no natural wine, no skin-contact options, zero sparkling beyond a budget Prosecco — but that's not really the point here.
Every bottle on the list is available by the glass, which is the right call for a social bar format. The glass pricing is straightforward — $7 gets you the Proverb entry-level pours, and topping out at $16/glass for the Mettler Cab keeps things within range of reasonable. No obvious rotation or seasonal BTG program to speak of.
The Bottom Line
Bernie's isn't trying to be a wine destination, and it doesn't need to be — what it does is offer a clean, fairly priced list where the Dr. Loosen Riesling alone is worth the stop. If you're in Kennesaw and want a decent glass without paying downtown Atlanta markups, this does the job honestly.
