Wingman Metrics
The 5Church Midtown wine list arrives looking polished and purposeful — 44 labels, a solid by-the-glass program, and enough Champagne to signal this place takes its celebration culture seriously. It reads more like a curated hotel bar list than a deep wine program: all the right names, not a lot of surprises. You won't feel lost here, but you won't feel found, either.
The list leans heavily into sparkling, with seven Champagne labels including Taittinger, Veuve Clicquot, Perrier-Jouët, and Dom Pérignon at $550 — a full bubbly roster that flatters the Midtown splurge crowd. Whites are competent but predictable: Sauvignon Blanc, Riesling, Pinot Grigio, Chardonnay, all from recognizable names like Jordan and St. Urbans-Hof. Rosé gets its own section with three options including the ubiquitous Miraval, which is fine but has become the Ugg boot of restaurant wine lists. Reds are present but the extracted data doesn't surface standout producers, which suggests the red half of the list may be where the effort runs thin.
Seventeen pours by the glass is genuinely generous, spanning Prosecco, rosé, whites, and presumably reds across an $11–$28 range. The G.H. Mumm at $28/glass is the top of that range and positioned as the accessible Champagne flex — fine, but expect it to be the default upsell from the floor. Rotation doesn't appear to be a priority; this reads like a list that stays consistent rather than one that chases seasonality.
The Bottom Line
5Church Midtown is a reliable wine stop for Midtown Atlanta — not adventurous, but not embarrassing. The Champagne selection punches above its weight for a restaurant program, and the 17-glass lineup gives you plenty to work with. Markups trend steep across the board, so stay smart with the bottle selections and you'll drink well enough. Send a friend here for bubbles before a concert; send a serious wine drinker somewhere else for dinner.

AltaToro isn't here to impress wine nerds, but it's not ignoring them either. The Iberian focus is real, the glass count is generous, and the pricing is honest enough that you won't feel taxed for drinking well. Send a friend here who wants wine that actually fits the food — just don't send them expecting a deep cellar.

Six wines at an Italian restaurant helmed by a celebrity chef is not a wine program — it's a placeholder. The markups lean steep (Collet at $100/bottle is a tough sell), there's zero Italian red depth, and the list hasn't been built to match the cuisine. Come for the food if Scott Conant's cooking earns your visit, but manage your wine expectations accordingly.

Concourse T · Atlanta · Wine Bar
Vino Volo earns its Wild Card badge not by being a great wine bar in the abstract, but by being a genuinely decent one inside one of the world's busiest airports. Markup will be airport markup — accept that going in — but the international reach on the list and the half-price Tuesday glass program show more care than the setting demands. If you're killing time at Concourse T and you care even a little about what's in your glass, this is where you should be sitting.

F & B earns its keep as a reliable by-the-glass destination — 46 pours by the glass is a legitimately useful feature, and there are smart picks buried in a list that otherwise feels like it was curated for people who only want to order what they already know. Markups run steep, especially at the top end, and the French restaurant identity isn't really reflected in the wine list. If you're eating here, go for the Chablis or the Scharffenberger, skip the Bordeaux splurge, and enjoy the flexibility.

East Atlanta Village · Atlanta · Italian wine bar
Sagra is doing something genuinely rare for Atlanta: running a deep, focused, low-intervention wine list with fair pricing in a neighborhood that doesn't usually ask for it. We don't have dish details to close the loop on food pairings, but the wine program alone is worth the trip. Send your adventurous friends here — and tell them to ask about the col fondo.

Buckhead · Atlanta · Italian Steakhouse
Luella has the infrastructure for a genuinely good wine program — sommelier on staff, a cuisine that practically demands serious red wine, and a room that sets the right tone. But without a published list and with a Bordeaux-heavy focus at Buckhead prices, there's a real chance you're paying a premium for predictability. Go in with your eyes open, lean on the sommelier, and push them for something beyond the obvious — if they're worth their title, they'll deliver.

Joey D's Oak Room isn't trying to reinvent the wine list — it's trying to make sure you drink well at dinner in Dunwoody, and it largely succeeds. The by-the-glass program is the real story here: broad, fairly priced, and anchored by a few genuinely interesting picks. Send a friend here when they want a reliable glass of something decent without a side of pretension.

Marietta · Marietta · New American/Southern
Spring Restaurant is running one of the most interesting wine programs in the Atlanta suburbs, and almost nobody outside of Marietta knows about it. The markup is fair, the by-the-glass selection is genuinely exciting, and the range of producers — from Galician Albariño to old-vine Catalan blends to Sonoma Coast Chardonnay — suggests someone in that building actually cares. If you're eating in Marietta and you care about what's in your glass, this is where you go.

Parkside District plays it safe and plays it competently — this is a list built for the broadest possible audience, and the near-total by-the-glass availability is genuinely useful. If you're looking for discovery or depth, you'll hit the edges quickly; if you want a solid glass of something recognizable at a fair price while you eat dinner, you'll leave satisfied. Worth recommending to friends who don't want to think too hard about wine — not worth a detour for anyone who does.
