Wingman Metrics
You open the wine list at a Scott Conant Italian restaurant in Atlanta and find exactly six options — all by the glass, all by the bottle, nothing more. It reads less like a curated program and more like someone had a deadline and a minimal brief.
Six wines covering four countries (US, South Africa, France, Italy) with no real regional Italian depth, which feels like a miss for a restaurant flying the Italian flag. The bottle list is entirely the same six as the glass pours — there is no actual bottle-only cellar to speak of. You get a Pinot Noir from Oregon, a Cab from California, a Pinot Grigio from Italy, a Sauvignon Blanc from South Africa, and two bubblies. That's the whole story. For a fine-dining Italian concept, the absence of Barolo, Brunello, Chianti, Amarone, or really any serious Italian red is a glaring gap.
All six wines on the list pour by the glass, which technically makes this a by-the-glass-only program with a bottle option bolted on. The range runs $15–$25/glass, which is fine for what it is — but when the entire program is six wines, the concept of 'rotating' glass pours doesn't really apply.
The Bottom Line
Six wines at an Italian restaurant helmed by a celebrity chef is not a wine program — it's a placeholder. The markups lean steep (Collet at $100/bottle is a tough sell), there's zero Italian red depth, and the list hasn't been built to match the cuisine. Come for the food if Scott Conant's cooking earns your visit, but manage your wine expectations accordingly.

5Church Midtown is a reliable wine stop for Midtown Atlanta — not adventurous, but not embarrassing. The Champagne selection punches above its weight for a restaurant program, and the 17-glass lineup gives you plenty to work with. Markups trend steep across the board, so stay smart with the bottle selections and you'll drink well enough. Send a friend here for bubbles before a concert; send a serious wine drinker somewhere else for dinner.

AltaToro isn't here to impress wine nerds, but it's not ignoring them either. The Iberian focus is real, the glass count is generous, and the pricing is honest enough that you won't feel taxed for drinking well. Send a friend here who wants wine that actually fits the food — just don't send them expecting a deep cellar.

Concourse T · Atlanta · Wine Bar
Vino Volo earns its Wild Card badge not by being a great wine bar in the abstract, but by being a genuinely decent one inside one of the world's busiest airports. Markup will be airport markup — accept that going in — but the international reach on the list and the half-price Tuesday glass program show more care than the setting demands. If you're killing time at Concourse T and you care even a little about what's in your glass, this is where you should be sitting.

F & B earns its keep as a reliable by-the-glass destination — 46 pours by the glass is a legitimately useful feature, and there are smart picks buried in a list that otherwise feels like it was curated for people who only want to order what they already know. Markups run steep, especially at the top end, and the French restaurant identity isn't really reflected in the wine list. If you're eating here, go for the Chablis or the Scharffenberger, skip the Bordeaux splurge, and enjoy the flexibility.

East Atlanta Village · Atlanta · Italian wine bar
Sagra is doing something genuinely rare for Atlanta: running a deep, focused, low-intervention wine list with fair pricing in a neighborhood that doesn't usually ask for it. We don't have dish details to close the loop on food pairings, but the wine program alone is worth the trip. Send your adventurous friends here — and tell them to ask about the col fondo.

Buckhead · Atlanta · Italian Steakhouse
Luella has the infrastructure for a genuinely good wine program — sommelier on staff, a cuisine that practically demands serious red wine, and a room that sets the right tone. But without a published list and with a Bordeaux-heavy focus at Buckhead prices, there's a real chance you're paying a premium for predictability. Go in with your eyes open, lean on the sommelier, and push them for something beyond the obvious — if they're worth their title, they'll deliver.

LaStrada's wine list is honest about what it is: a low-friction, low-drama selection designed for guests who want a glass of something familiar with their pasta. The glass-to-bottle ratio is excellent, markups are fair across the board, and the Valpolicella is a quiet nod to Italian authenticity. Just don't arrive expecting the list to match the cuisine's ambitions — it's a reliable neighborhood companion, not a destination.

· Woodstock · Italian
Tuscany Italian in Woodstock isn't trying to reinvent the wheel, and that's fine — the Italian selections are legitimate, the glass pour count is genuinely impressive, and the pricing is fair without being exciting. If you're looking for a deep cellar or a rotating seasonal program, keep driving; if you want a solid glass of Chianti with your pasta without any drama, this gets the job done.

Cafe' Bella looks like a genuinely pleasant place to eat Italian in Lafayette, and the atmosphere alone earns it a shot. But until we can document the wine list properly — real bottles, real prices — we can't give you the specific guidance you deserve. Go for the Eggplant Parmigiana and the room; ask your server what they're pouring by the glass and take it from there.
