Wingman Metrics
The wine list at Joey D's Oak Room is compact at 36 labels but punches above its weight for a neighborhood New American spot in Dunwoody. It's organized cleanly by style — whites, rosés, bubbles, reds — and the pricing doesn't immediately make you wince. This isn't a destination wine list, but it's clearly put together by someone who cares more than average.
The whites lean heavily California — Raeburn, Truchard, and Sonoma Cutrer cover the Chardonnay bases across three price points — but there's a nice counter-move with Dr. Loosen Riesling and Masson Blondelet Sancerre for Old World drinkers who don't want to drown in oak. The bubble section earns real respect: Nicolas Feuillatte, Veuve Clicquot, and Billecart-Salmon on the same list as a $44 Riondo Prosecco means you can toast at any budget. The red side is thinner — Covalli Barolo and a couple of Bordeaux entries (Château du Taillan Haut-Médoc, Brio de Cantenac Margaux) show ambition, but if you're a Rhône or Tempranillo person, you'll be left wanting. It's a list built for the crowd that shows up — not the crowd that's looking for a rabbit hole.
Twenty-four by-the-glass options on a 36-bottle list is a generous ratio — nearly everything pours by the glass, which we appreciate. Prices run $10–$24/glass, and the range covers Fleurs de Prairie Rosé and Dr. Loosen at $10 all the way up to the Covalli Barolo at $16. The Champagne pours (Nicolas Feuillatte at $14/glass) are a legitimately good call for a restaurant that isn't a wine bar.
The Bottom Line
Joey D's Oak Room isn't trying to reinvent the wine list — it's trying to make sure you drink well at dinner in Dunwoody, and it largely succeeds. The by-the-glass program is the real story here: broad, fairly priced, and anchored by a few genuinely interesting picks. Send a friend here when they want a reliable glass of something decent without a side of pretension.

Fogo de Chão Dunwoody isn't building a wine destination — it's running a smart, scaled by-the-glass program that keeps the price of entry low and the list familiar enough that you never feel stuck. The $6 South American tier is a genuine win for a night centered on meat and fire. Send a friend here for the Alamos Malbec and the picanha; just don't send them expecting to geek out.

Vino Venue is a genuine suburban overachiever — a small, sparkling-forward list with real Champagne options and fair pricing in a part of Atlanta that typically offers neither. If you're going to drink, lead with bubbles and don't touch the Moscato.

Spring Restaurant is running one of the most interesting wine programs in the Atlanta suburbs, and almost nobody outside of Marietta knows about it. The markup is fair, the by-the-glass selection is genuinely exciting, and the range of producers — from Galician Albariño to old-vine Catalan blends to Sonoma Coast Chardonnay — suggests someone in that building actually cares. If you're eating in Marietta and you care about what's in your glass, this is where you go.

Parkside District plays it safe and plays it competently — this is a list built for the broadest possible audience, and the near-total by-the-glass availability is genuinely useful. If you're looking for discovery or depth, you'll hit the edges quickly; if you want a solid glass of something recognizable at a fair price while you eat dinner, you'll leave satisfied. Worth recommending to friends who don't want to think too hard about wine — not worth a detour for anyone who does.
