Primrose Path is a genuine wine bar hiding in plain sight in Aggieland, with a list that would hold its own in Austin or Houston. Markup keeps it from Rager status, but if you're in College Station and serious about what's in your glass, there is no competition — this is your spot.

Porters is doing real wine work in a market that mostly doesn't bother — solid list, a sommelier on staff, and a Wednesday glass program that's genuinely worth planning around. Bring someone you want to impress; just steer them away from the Caymus.

The Republic is the best wine program in a 100-mile radius, full stop — a serious sommelier team, a list that can hold its own against Houston steakhouses, and a room that treats the bottle with the same respect it gives the beef. Yes, pricing runs steep, but if you're eating a dry-aged ribeye in College Station, you already knew this wasn't going to be a cheap night.

Porters is the best wine program in College Station by a country mile, and it would hold its own in any major Texas city. If California Cabernet is your religion, this is your church — just bring your wallet.
