The Monica's wine list is tidy, approachable, and built entirely for the brunch crowd — which is probably exactly what they were going for. Twenty-six labels, heavy on the recognizable names, light on any real adventure. It's the wine list equivalent of a solid playlist you've heard a hundred times: comfortable, unoffensive, and not trying to impress anyone.
The list leans hard on the American grocery-store hall of fame — La Crema, Kim Crawford, Justin, Kung Fu Girl — with a brief international detour via the Leco Punk Rioja and Piattelli Malbec. There's a decent bubbles section anchored by Mas Fi Cava and a handful of Proseccos, which gives the brunch program some personality. What's missing is any real depth: no Burgundy, no Rhône, nothing from Italy beyond sparkling, and zero old-vine anything. The Leco Punk Rioja is the one bottle here that suggests someone on the team has a taste for something beyond the mainstream.
Eighteen by-the-glass options is a generous pour count for a list this size, and the $9–$15 glass range keeps things accessible. The selections mirror the bottle list closely — familiar producers, easy-drinking styles — so don't expect the BTG program to surprise you. What you will get is something cold, correct, and ready before your eggs benedict lands.
Mas Fi Cava Brut — $29
Cava at $29 a bottle is legitimately hard to beat. Mas Fi is a solid producer in Spain's DO Cava, and this is the kind of crisp, toasty sparkling wine that makes a brunch spread feel like a celebration without making your wallet hurt. It's the smartest order on the list.
Leco Punk Rioja Tempranillo
Everything else on this list plays it safe; the Leco Punk Rioja does not. It's the lone old-world red with actual character — earthy, structured, and genuinely interesting in a sea of crowd-pleasers. Most tables will order the Cab or the Malbec and completely miss this one.
Kim Crawford Sauvignon Blanc
At $48 a bottle, you're paying nearly four times retail for a wine that costs $12 at every grocery store in America. Kim Crawford is fine — truly, it's fine — but the markup here is a hard pill to swallow when the Mas Fi Cava is sitting right there at $29.
Kung Fu Girl Riesling + Brunch entrée with eggs or spicy elements
Kung Fu Girl's off-dry Washington Riesling has just enough residual sweetness and bright acidity to cut through rich egg dishes and cool down anything with heat. It's the most food-flexible white on the list and consistently underordered at brunch.
The Bottom Line
The Monica is a reliable neighborhood brunch spot with a wine list that gets the job done without ever trying to be anything more. Send a friend here for a casual Saturday — just steer them toward the Cava and the Rioja.

Hacienda del Sol is a beautiful place to drink wine, and the list backs up the setting well enough — sommelier on staff, proper glassware, solid California-France-Arizona range. Just go in knowing you're paying resort prices, and steer toward the Arizona bottles or the Jordan before defaulting to the Caymus.

Harvest Oro Valley earns its Wild Card badge on the strength of a genuinely fair markup, a Monday-Tuesday half-price bottle program that's legitimately one of the better wine deals in the Tucson metro, and a list that at least tries to go somewhere interesting. It's not a destination wine list, but if you live nearby and haven't figured out that Tuesday dinner here is your best value play of the week, now you know.
