RagingWine reviewed Seis Kitchen Mercado’s wine list and gave it The Lazy List — RagingWine’s Vibe-Check rating. How RagingWine reviews wine lists →
Wingman Metrics
The wine list at Seis Kitchen Mercado fits on a napkin — literally three options, no producers named, no regions listed. This is a place that sells wine because it has to, not because anyone here is excited about it.
Three entries: Red, White, and Vino (your choice of red or white). That's the entire program. No producers, no grapes, no vintages, no regions — just color as a category. It's impossible to evaluate depth, variety, or sourcing when the list tells you nothing beyond the hue of your pour. We've seen gas station wine fridges with more curation than this.
Everything here is by the glass, because there is nothing else — $8 for red or white, $6 for the Vino option. Three price points, three pours, full stop. Rotation and quality are unknowable from the available information.
The Bottom Line
Seis Kitchen is almost certainly doing great things with food, but the wine program is essentially nonexistent — three unnamed pours at bare-minimum prices with zero information to guide a choice. Come for the tacos, order a beer or a margarita, and don't look at the wine list.
Catalina Foothills · Tucson · New American
Commoner & Co. is a dependable neighborhood wine list in a city that doesn't always prioritize the bottle program — fair pricing, reasonable range, and a Monday half-off special that makes it genuinely worth planning around. Not a destination for wine geeks, but a solid place to drink well without thinking too hard about it.

· Tucson · Beer & Wine Bar
Broadway Beer & Wine Bar earns a Lazy List badge not because the wines are bad, but because the list represents zero effort beyond calling an Edgefield distributor. If you're here for beer, you're probably fine — but if you came for wine variety, keep walking.

Good Oak is exactly the kind of place that surprises you — a casual Congress Street bar that happens to have a sommelier and a wine list that leans into Italy and Portugal instead of defaulting to the usual suspects. If you're in Tucson and want a glass of something interesting without the pretense, this is the move.

Maynards Kitchen is a charming spot inside a genuinely iconic Tucson hotel, which makes the wine list feel like an especially lazy afterthought. Skip the wine, order a cocktail, and hope whoever curates this program eventually decides to care.

Zio Peppe is a solid neighborhood spot where the wine list won't blow your mind but won't let you down either — stick to something California and light, order the Sausage and Mushroom pizza, and enjoy the patio. Send your friend here for dinner, not for the wine.

Sunshine Wine is doing something genuinely uncommon for Tucson — leaning hard into the borderlands wine identity and making it feel cool instead of gimmicky. If you're curious about what Arizona and Sonora actually taste like in a glass, this bungalow on Santa Rita is the place to find out.

Irvine Spectrum · Irvine · Mexican
Javier's Irvine is a genuinely good night out — the food is the draw, the room delivers, and the wine list will get you through dinner without embarrassing anyone. But if you're coming specifically to drink well, temper expectations: this is California-safe territory with pricing that reflects the zip code more than the cellar. Order the carne asada, ask what's open by the glass, and don't overthink it.

89Agave is almost certainly a fun spot to eat — it's a cantina in Sedona, and the margaritas are probably doing the heavy lifting here anyway. The wine list, though, is purely functional and priced without much generosity, particularly at the higher end. If wine matters to your evening, order something simple by the glass and move on; this program isn't the reason to visit.

Casa Tios is a Mexican restaurant that serves wine because people ask for it, not because anyone here is passionate about it. Order the margarita, or lean into the sangria — and save your serious wine night for somewhere else.
