The program leans on familiar California pillars — Napa and Sonoma dominate — with some French and Italian representation that reads more like menu decoration than genuine commitment. There's no evidence of a deep cellar or a buyer with a point of view. For a resort dining room at this price point, you'd hope for a few producers that make you sit up; instead, the list feels like it was assembled to reassure, not inspire. Evan's is the right place for a proper Tahoe date night, and the wine list won't let you down — as long as you go in knowing it's built for comfort, not discovery. Stick to the Kistler or Flowers and you'll drink well; chase the obvious names and you'll overpay for the privilege.
