The wine list at Jimmy's arrives looking the part — leather-bound, lakeside, resort-polished — and it doesn't entirely disappoint. Six hundred bottles spread across seven countries sounds impressive, and there's genuine curation happening here, not just a hotel afterthought. That said, you're paying for the view as much as what's in the glass.
California dominates the list the way it should at a Tahoe resort with ambitions: Rombauer Chardonnay, Sequoia Grove Cab out of Rutherford, Ridge 'Three Valleys' Zinfandel, and Walt 'La Brisa' Pinot Noir give you a credible tour of Napa and Sonoma without feeling like a greatest-hits compilation. The Italy angle is a genuine highlight — Abbazia di Novacella's Pinot Grigio from Alto Adige and Ornellaia Le Volte from Tuscany punch well above what most mountain resort lists bother with. The house wines — The Landing Chardonnay and Red Blend, both made by Topophilia out of Sonoma — are a smart move that beats the generic house-wine trap. Where things get thin is in the Southern Hemisphere and anywhere east of France; the 'seven countries' claim stretches the international story a bit.
The BTG program runs 15 to 20 options depending on the night, spread across bubbles, whites, rosé, and reds, with prices landing between $10 and $29. Happy hour softens the sting on some pours, which is worth knowing before you sit down. Rotation doesn't appear to be a priority — this reads more like a set-and-forget program than one with a passionate glass-pour advocate behind it.
M. Chapoutier Belleruche Rosé, Côtes-du-Rhône — $14
Chapoutier's Belleruche is a reliable, food-friendly Rhône rosé with real character — Grenache-driven, dry, with enough substance to hold up to the Med-influenced small plates. At resort prices, finding this at the lower end of the BTG range is a quiet win.
Victorine de Chastenay Crémant de Bourgogne
Most people at a lakeside resort reach for the Moët on instinct, but this Burgundy sparkler is the smarter order. Made in the traditional method, it delivers proper toast and fruit complexity at a fraction of the Champagne price — and almost nobody orders it.
Moët & Chandon Brut Champagne
Moët is fine, but at resort markup it's a reflexive splurge that doesn't get you anywhere interesting. The Victorine de Chastenay Crémant de Bourgogne is right there on the list and drinks nearly as well for considerably less money.
Ridge 'Three Valleys' Zinfandel Blend, Sonoma + Lamb Chops
Ridge's 'Three Valleys' brings dark fruit, pepper, and enough structure to stand up to the gamey richness of the lamb chops without running roughshod over the Mediterranean herbs. It's one of the more honest pairings on the menu — neither choice is trying too hard.

Jimmy's is a dependable resort wine list with some genuine bright spots — just don't expect adventurous pricing or a staff member who can walk you through the Ornellaia. If you're in South Lake Tahoe and want a proper glass of something good with a fire crackling and the lake out the window, you could do a lot worse.

ECHO's wine program is exactly what a hotel lounge in a ski town should be: fair prices, nothing offensive, nothing exciting. If you're here for the mountain, this list won't get in the way — and that's honestly enough.

The Cork & More is the kind of place that shouldn't work as well as it does — a wine shop and deli hybrid in a tourist ski town charging near-retail prices. We'd absolutely send a friend here, especially one who's been burned by $80 Napa Cabs at resort restaurants one too many times.

Maggie's isn't going to make a wine person drive up from the Bay Area, but for a ski-base hotel restaurant it punches well above its weight — fair markups, considered pours, and a list that treats guests like adults. If you're already at Heavenly Village, you're in good hands.

Evan's is the right place for a proper Tahoe date night, and the wine list won't let you down — as long as you go in knowing it's built for comfort, not discovery. Stick to the Kistler or Flowers and you'll drink well; chase the obvious names and you'll overpay for the privilege.

My Thai is a genuine Wild Card — a family Thai joint that somehow assembled a Napa Cab-heavy wine list with real bottles on it, even if the pairing logic is questionable and the markups climb fast. Come for the green curry, order the Santadi, and marvel at the fact that Heitz Trailside exists on this menu at all.
