Walking into The Cork & More feels less like entering a restaurant and more like raiding a well-stocked friend's wine rack — one who also happens to have excellent cheese and charcuterie on hand. The hybrid shop-café format is genuinely rare in a ski-town dining scene dominated by overpriced après spots. The vibe is unpretentious in a way that feels intentional, not accidental.
The list pulls from California, France, Italy, Spain, and the Pacific Northwest — a range that covers most dinner table arguments without going so deep it becomes overwhelming. At 100 to 300 bottles, this is a real selection, not a curated afterthought. The California-heavy lean makes sense for the region and crowd, though we'd love to see more adventurous picks from lesser-known appellations tucked in alongside the crowd-pleasers. There are no obvious glaring gaps, but the list doesn't take many swings either — it's broad without being bold.
With 10 to 20 pours available by the glass, there's enough range to make a decision without a spreadsheet. Given the retail-adjacent pricing model, the glass pours should represent solid value compared to what you'd find at a standard restaurant with a 3-4x markup structure. Rotation details aren't fully documented, but the format of the shop suggests pours change as bottles move — which keeps things fresher than a laminated wine list that hasn't changed since 2019.
Justin Cabernet Sauvignon Paso Robles — $29.99
A 7% markup on a bottle that retails for $28 is essentially buying it at the wine shop down the street — except you get to drink it right now with a charcuterie board in front of you. That's the whole pitch here, and it works.
La Marca Prosecco DOC
Most people walk past the Prosecco at a deli-style spot and head straight for the red. Don't. At $17.99, this is practically retail, and it's the most versatile pour on the menu — works with cheese boards, cured meats, or just a Tuesday afternoon in Tahoe.
Rombauer Chardonnay Carneros
Even at a 12% markup, $44.99 is still $44.99 for a bottle that's become more brand than wine at this point. The Rombauer Chard has its fans, but there are almost certainly better values on this list that won't have you thinking about the price the whole time.
Meiomi Pinot Noir California + Charcuterie and Cheese Board
The Meiomi is soft, fruit-forward, and low-friction — exactly what you want with a mixed board of cured meats and aged cheeses where no single flavor is supposed to dominate. At $24.99, it doesn't ask much of your wallet either.
🎲 The Bottom Line
The Cork & More is the kind of place that shouldn't work as well as it does — a wine shop and deli hybrid in a tourist ski town charging near-retail prices. We'd absolutely send a friend here, especially one who's been burned by $80 Napa Cabs at resort restaurants one too many times.

Maggie's isn't going to make a wine person drive up from the Bay Area, but for a ski-base hotel restaurant it punches well above its weight — fair markups, considered pours, and a list that treats guests like adults. If you're already at Heavenly Village, you're in good hands.

Jimmy's is a dependable resort wine list with some genuine bright spots — just don't expect adventurous pricing or a staff member who can walk you through the Ornellaia. Evan's is the right place for a proper Tahoe date night, and the wine list won't let you down — as long as you go in knowing it's built for comfort, not discovery. Stick to the Kistler or Flowers and you'll drink well; chase the obvious names and you'll overpay for the privilege.

My Thai is a genuine Wild Card — a family Thai joint that somehow assembled a Napa Cab-heavy wine list with real bottles on it, even if the pairing logic is questionable and the markups climb fast. Come for the green curry, order the Santadi, and marvel at the fact that Heitz Trailside exists on this menu at all.
