You walk into a converted Alpine house, sit down at a white-tablecloth table, and the wine list lands in your hands like it means business — 100-plus labels, California-heavy, no surprises. It's the kind of list that tells you exactly who this restaurant is cooking for: special-occasion diners who want a recognizable name on the bottle and aren't going to argue about the price.
The list leans hard into Napa and Sonoma, which makes sense for a fine-dining room catering to Bay Area vacationers who want comfort over adventure. You've got the usual suspects — Jordan Cabernet, Duckhorn Merlot, Stag's Leap — and a few genuinely good picks like Kistler Chardonnay and Flowers Pinot Noir that show someone was paying attention when they built this list. Pacific Northwest and France round out the edges, but don't come here expecting a Burgundy deep-dive or anything from the Southern Hemisphere. It's a list designed to reassure, not challenge, and it mostly succeeds on those terms.
Ten to sixteen pours at $14–$22 a glass is a solid range for a room at this price point, and the spread likely mirrors the bottle list's California-first philosophy. We'd love to see more rotation or a producer spotlight to keep things interesting, but for a mountain town fine-dining spot, the glass program does its job without embarrassing itself.
Flowers Pinot Noir, Sonoma Coast — $22
Flowers is a serious producer making genuinely expressive Sonoma Coast Pinot — the kind of wine that costs real money at retail. If it's available by the glass, it's likely the best bang-for-buck pour on the list and a natural fit for the food coming out of this kitchen.
Kistler Chardonnay, Sonoma Coast
Kistler gets lumped in with 'California Chardonnay' by people who haven't had it, but this is the real thing — restrained, textured, genuinely complex. Most diners will reach for the Pinot or the Cab and miss it entirely. Don't be that person.
Jordan Cabernet Sauvignon, Alexander Valley
Jordan is fine — it's always fine — but at a fine-dining markup it's easy to pay $80–$100 for a bottle you could grab at your local wine shop for $35. The name recognition is doing a lot of heavy lifting here. Look elsewhere on the list.
Duckhorn Merlot, Napa Valley + Rack of Lamb
Duckhorn Merlot has the dark fruit weight and soft tannin structure to stand up to lamb without steamrolling it — it's a classic Napa pairing that works precisely because it doesn't try to be clever. Order this combo and you'll leave happy.

Evan's is the right place for a proper Tahoe date night, and the wine list won't let you down — as long as you go in knowing it's built for comfort, not discovery. Stick to the Kistler or Flowers and you'll drink well; chase the obvious names and you'll overpay for the privilege.

My Thai is a genuine Wild Card — a family Thai joint that somehow assembled a Napa Cab-heavy wine list with real bottles on it, even if the pairing logic is questionable and the markups climb fast. Come for the green curry, order the Santadi, and marvel at the fact that Heitz Trailside exists on this menu at all.
