Wingman Metrics
The wine list here reads like a greatest hits album you've heard a thousand times — Kendall-Jackson, Meiomi, Rombauer, La Marca. It's engineered for recognition, not discovery. If the goal was to make no one uncomfortable, mission accomplished.
The list leans hard on California with a few Italian and New Zealand cameos to feel international. You'll find Santa Margherita Pinot Grigio and Decoy Cabernet doing the heavy lifting alongside the usual suspects. There's no depth to speak of — no small producers, no regional curiosities, nothing that would make a curious drinker lean in. France gets a courtesy nod, but don't go looking for a grower Champagne or a village Burgundy.
Twenty to thirty options sounds generous until you realize they're all pulling from the same familiar roster. La Marca Prosecco opens the show, Rombauer closes it for the Chardonnay crowd, and everything in between is a brand you've seen at a grocery store endcap. Rotation isn't really a concept here — this list was set, approved by a committee in a corporate office somewhere, and hasn't budged since.
Decoy Cabernet Sauvignon — $13/glass
It's not exciting, but Decoy is a legitimate Sonoma Cab that drinks above its station. At the low end of the glass price range, it's the most honest pour on the list — fruit-forward, approachable, and unlikely to disappoint a table of mixed drinkers.
Meiomi Pinot Noir
Yes, it's ubiquitous. But at a place like this, ordering the Pinot instead of defaulting to Cab is a small act of self-preservation. It's soft, crowd-friendly, and handles the kitchen's rich, saucy dishes better than anything else on this list.
Santa Margherita Pinot Grigio
Santa Margherita built its brand on being the 'fancy' Pinot Grigio, but the markup here makes you pay for that reputation all over again. You're getting a thin, neutral white at a price that should come with more personality. Pass.
Rombauer Chardonnay + Chicken Madeira
Rombauer is the definition of a big, buttery California Chard — oak, vanilla, ripe stone fruit. The Chicken Madeira is equally indulgent, with its rich mushroom and Madeira wine sauce. They're both unapologetically over the top, which makes them weirdly perfect for each other.
❌ The Bottom Line
The Cheesecake Factory's wine list exists to reduce friction, not create excitement — it's a corporate safety net dressed up as a wine program. Order the Decoy, enjoy your Chicken Madeira, and save your wine curiosity for somewhere that actually wants it.
I-435 & Metcalf / South Overland Park · Overland Park · Upscale Steakhouse
Ruth's Chris Overland Park delivers exactly what it promises: a big, well-managed wine list staffed by people who know it, served in proper glassware at prices that will make you wince. Send a friend here for a business dinner or a celebration, but tell them to stick to the mid-tier California reds and leave the prestige bottles for someone else's tab.

Central Overland Park · Overland Park · Italian
Garozzo's isn't a wine destination, but it's a reliable Italian dinner with a list that won't embarrass you — especially if you show up on a Sunday. Half-price bottles up to $100 is a legitimate deal, and for a neighborhood Italian that's been around long enough to bottle its own Chianti, there's more to like here than the list length suggests.

Mission Farms · Overland Park · New American
Tavern at Mission Farms is a reliable neighborhood wine list — nothing that'll move you, but Wednesday half-price bottles flip the math entirely and make this worth a weekly habit. Come for the deal, not the depth.

Spin! Pizza is a perfectly fine place to eat pizza; the wine list is an afterthought that exists because restaurants need wine lists. Come on a Monday, order a bottle of Gnarly Head at half-price, and make peace with what this is.

Southwest Boulevard · Overland Park · Spanish Tapas
La Bodega isn't trying to be a wine bar, but the half-price Monday and Thursday deals, Spain-focused list, and food-friendly pours make it the most fun you can have drinking wine with tapas in Kansas City. Go on a Thursday, order the Marqués de Cáceres, and don't overthink it.

Summit Grill isn't a wine destination, but it's a solid neighborhood spot that earns its keep — especially on Mondays, when the half-price bottle program turns a steep list into a genuinely good deal. Come with a California palate and a plan to be here before Tuesday.

Denim & Oak isn't going to make anyone's wine pilgrimage list, but for Columbus, Georgia, it's a legitimately decent place to drink — fair prices, a deep BTG program, and Wine Down Wednesday as a reason to come back. Just steer clear of the Concha y Toro and head straight for the Orin Swift or the Oregon section.

The View earns its name from the scenery, not the wine list — but the list is solid enough to not embarrass the occasion. Send a friend here for a date night with the explicit instruction to order La Marca first, enjoy the view, and not overthink the rest.

Ruby Tuesday's wine program is a placeholder, not a program — two grocery store bottles and a price tag that's at least fair for what it is. Order a cocktail, drink a beer, and save the wine drinking for somewhere that's trying.
