Wingman Metrics
The wine list at Tavern at Mission Farms is short, approachable, and pretty much exactly what you'd expect from a polished suburban tavern — recognizable labels, nothing intimidating, nothing that requires a second look. It's a list built for the neighborhood, not for anyone chasing obscure producers. That's not a knock, just know what you're walking into.
Twenty-one labels covering California, France, Italy, Oregon, New Zealand, and Argentina gives this list decent geographic range on paper, but the depth stays firmly in crowd-pleaser territory. You've got your Quilt Cabernet for the Napa faithful, a Planet Oregon Pinot Noir for the person who just discovered Willamette Valley, and a Chateau Montaud Rosé for the table that wants something pink from Provence. The E. Guigal Côtes-du-Rhône is arguably the most interesting bottle on the list — a reliable French producer in a sea of American brand names. Gaps are real though: no serious reds from Spain or Italy, no grower Champagne, nothing that would make a wine-curious drinker lean forward.
All 21 labels are available by the glass, which is actually a smart move for a casual neighborhood spot — it keeps options open and lets tables mix and match. Pours run $8 to $20, which is reasonable for the area. The La Marca Prosecco at $11 a glass is arguably the best deal in the building when you factor in retail price.
La Marca Prosecco NV — $11/glass
Retails around $15 a bottle, so $11 a glass is genuinely fair for a sit-down restaurant. It's light, clean, and exactly what you want to start a meal with. Order two and skip the cocktail.
E. Guigal Côtes-du-Rhône
In a list dominated by Napa Cabs and New Zealand Sauvignon Blancs, Guigal's entry-level Rhône blend is quietly the most interesting bottle here. It's a legit producer making honest Southern French wine — a crowd that usually gets no love on lists like this.
Caymus Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley
At $210 a bottle against a $90 retail price, this is a 133% markup on a wine that's already everywhere. Caymus is fine — not special — and at this price you're paying for the name recognition more than anything in the glass.
Planet Oregon Pinot Noir + Wood-grilled burger
A Willamette Pinot Noir has just enough red fruit and light structure to cut through a burger without fighting it. It's a better call than reaching for the big Napa Cab, which will bully the beef more than complement it.
Wednesday — Half-price bottles on Wednesdays in the dining room. Some exclusions may apply — reserve list or special features may not be included. Confirm with your server on arrival.
✔️ The Bottom Line
Tavern at Mission Farms is a reliable neighborhood wine list — nothing that'll move you, but Wednesday half-price bottles flip the math entirely and make this worth a weekly habit. Come for the deal, not the depth.

Garozzo's isn't a wine destination, but it's a reliable Italian dinner with a list that won't embarrass you — especially if you show up on a Sunday. Half-price bottles up to $100 is a legitimate deal, and for a neighborhood Italian that's been around long enough to bottle its own Chianti, there's more to like here than the list length suggests.

The Cheesecake Factory's wine list exists to reduce friction, not create excitement — it's a corporate safety net dressed up as a wine program. Order the Decoy, enjoy your Chicken Madeira, and save your wine curiosity for somewhere that actually wants it.

Spin! Pizza is a perfectly fine place to eat pizza; the wine list is an afterthought that exists because restaurants need wine lists. Come on a Monday, order a bottle of Gnarly Head at half-price, and make peace with what this is.

La Bodega isn't trying to be a wine bar, but the half-price Monday and Thursday deals, Spain-focused list, and food-friendly pours make it the most fun you can have drinking wine with tapas in Kansas City. Go on a Thursday, order the Marqués de Cáceres, and don't overthink it.
