Wingman Metrics
The Cape's wine list is a 31-bottle curveball in suburban Atlanta — heavy South African representation mixed with familiar French and California names, all at prices that won't make you wince. You're not expecting to find Ken Forrester Chenin Blanc and Graham Beck Brut in the same list as Whispering Angel in Alpharetta, but here we are. It's a short list that clearly has a point of view.
The South African thread running through this list is the real story — Boschendal, Babylonstoren, Excelsior, Yebo, and Ken Forrester all show up, which is either a passionate buying decision or a very interesting distributor relationship, either way we're not complaining. Beyond the Cape wines, there's a respectable Domaine Auchère Sancerre, Chateau Miraval Rosé, and Duckhorn Chardonnay to keep the mainstream crowd satisfied. Reds are where the list goes thin — Excelsior Cab and Big Flower Cabernet Sauvignon are essentially the only options we see, so if you came for a Burgundy deep-dive, manage your expectations now. The sparkling section punches above its weight for a beach bar concept, with four options including Veuve Clicquot Brut Rosé at $150 and a Collet Brut Reserve at $100.
Twenty-one of the 31 bottles are available by the glass, which is a legitimately generous pour program — almost everything on the list is accessible without committing to a bottle. Prices run $10 to $25 per glass, and the range spans sparkling through rosé through red, so you can legitimately build a flight across the meal. The $10/glass Excelsior Chardonnay is the floor entry point and the $25/glass Collet Brut Reserve is the ceiling, which is a reasonable spread.
The Bottom Line
The Cape is doing something genuinely unexpected for Alpharetta — a South African-anchored wine list with fair markups and a by-the-glass program that lets you actually explore it. The red selection is thin and the list won't impress anyone looking for depth, but for a beach bar concept with 21 glass pours and Sancerre at $15, we'd send a friend here without hesitation.

· Alpharetta · Italian
Ippolito's Alpharetta keeps it simple and mostly keeps it fair — bottle prices stay under $50, the Italian reds are the right call for the cuisine, and the across-the-board by-the-glass program gives you flexibility. Skip the Meiomi, lean into the Italian side of the list, and you'll drink well enough for a weeknight dinner without any drama.

Ocean & Acre isn't trying to be a wine destination, but the list punches above its weight for a suburban seafood spot — fair markups, a thoughtful glass program, and a few genuinely interesting picks tucked in alongside the crowd-pleasers. If you're eating seafood in Alpharetta and want a decent bottle without getting gouged, this is your place.

Sulit is doing something quietly unusual in Alpharetta: committing to a European-focused, white-wine-forward list in a market that typically defaults to domestic Cabernet and Chardonnay. The list is small, but it's curated with a point of view — and the by-the-glass ratio means you can explore without committing to a bottle. If you're tired of the same suburban wine bar experience, this one's worth a detour.

Alpharetta · Alpharetta · Italian
Fiorenza's wine list punches above its weight for an Alpharetta Italian spot — the Italian focus is focused and honest, the by-the-glass program is genuinely broad, and the pricing stays mostly fair. If you're eating here, skip the safe Pinot Grigio and work your way through the more interesting Italian options the list quietly hides in plain sight.

Campania keeps it short and Italian, which we respect. The list won't win any awards for depth, but the Pelissero Nebbiolo and Borgo Tesis Sauvignon show genuine curation in a sea of predictable neighborhood lists. If you want a solid glass of wine with your pasta and you're not looking for a 10-page binder, this gets the job done.

· Alpharetta · French/European
OneDayinParis is doing something uncommon in the suburbs: saying no to everything that doesn't belong. A four-wine list sounds like a limitation, but when the four wines are Sancerre, Premier Cru Chablis, Châteauneuf-du-Pape, and Champagne at reasonable prices, it reads more like confidence. If you want range, look elsewhere — if you want a focused, well-chosen French glass with your dinner, this is a genuine find in Alpharetta.

Willie Rae's is not trying to be a wine destination, and it does not pretend to be — what it offers is a fair, fuss-free list where every bottle pours by the glass and nothing will shock your credit card. Grab the Martin Codax Albariño or the Barossa Shiraz, skip the Oyster Bay upsell, and you will have a perfectly good time. If wine is secondary to your evening here, this list does its job without embarrassing anyone.

Parkside at The Grove isn't trying to be a wine destination, and it doesn't pretend to be — but the list is fairly priced, almost entirely available by the glass, and covers enough ground to keep most tables happy. If you're in Snellville and want a solid pour without a headache, this works.

Antebellum is playing wine-list defense, not offense — the selections are safe, the sparkling section is the clear highlight, and pricing data is absent so we can't fully vouch for value. That said, 67 labels with producers like Gonet-Médéville and Stags' Leap in Flowery Branch, GA earns genuine respect. Worth a visit; just go in knowing what to order.
