The wine list at Solbar arrives looking exactly like you'd expect from a polished Napa resort — clean, confident, and built around names that tourists recognize from wine shop endcaps. It's not adventurous, but it's not trying to be. You're at a spa resort on the Silverado Trail; the list matches the zip code.
Solbar leans hard into Napa Valley and Carneros heavyweights — Stag's Leap, Duckhorn, Cakebread, Rombauer, Frank Family — the kind of producers that do well on resort lists because guests already trust them. Burgundy gets a nod, which is appreciated, but don't come here expecting deep digs into Beaune Premier Crus or anything that'll make you feel like you discovered something. The list covers the major California varieties competently, with Cabernet and Chardonnay rightfully dominating. Gaps exist in anything natural, skin-contact, or outside the well-worn Napa-Sonoma corridor.
The by-the-glass program runs a reasonable 12–20 options, covering the expected range from Carneros bubbles to Napa Cab. Prices run $15–$30 a glass, which is on the upper end but not outrageous for a resort property in wine country. Rotation appears minimal — this reads more like a set program than one with a sommelier refreshing it weekly.
Domaine Carneros Brut Sparkling — $15–$18/glass
Domaine Carneros makes genuinely good Champagne-method sparkling wine from estate Carneros fruit, and it tends to be fairly priced relative to its quality on lists like this. Order it by the glass while you're waiting for your table to fill out, and you've already won the evening.
Frank Family Vineyards Chardonnay Carneros
Everyone reaches for the Rombauer because they know the name, but Frank Family's Carneros Chardonnay is doing more interesting work — tighter, more mineral-driven, less like drinking vanilla butter. It tends to get overlooked on lists where Rombauer is parked right next to it.
Rombauer Vineyards Chardonnay Carneros
Rombauer is perfectly fine wine, but it's also priced at a significant premium on restaurant lists specifically because the name moves. You're paying for recognition, not complexity. At resort markup on top of an already-elevated retail price, you're spending real money for a wine you can buy at Costco.
Duckhorn Vineyards Merlot Napa Valley + Solbar Fried Chicken
Duckhorn Merlot has enough plush fruit and soft tannin to handle the richness of fried chicken without the grip of a full Cab overwhelming everything on the plate. It's an unexpected pairing that actually works — the wine's roundness meets the fat of the bird and the two just settle in together.
The Bottom Line
Solbar is a reliable pour in a beautiful setting — you're not discovering anything new here, but you're not getting burned either. If you want to drink something outside the Napa canon, eat inside and order a cocktail; if you're happy celebrating with Stag's Leap by a firepit, this list will serve you well.

Castello di Amorosa is unabashedly a destination experience, and the wine list reflects that: captive audience, estate-only pours, pricing that leans on the setting as much as the wine. But the Italian-varietal focus is genuinely interesting, the courtyard is a legitimately great place to drink, and if you're already on Highway 29, there are worse ways to spend an afternoon.

Auro is the kind of wine list that justifies the Four Seasons room rate all on its own — stratospheric in ceiling, surprisingly thoughtful in its range, and staffed by people who clearly know what they're looking at. The markups are real and the prices are not for the faint of wallet, but if you're going to drop serious money on wine anywhere in Napa Valley, this list at least earns the ask.
