Wingman Metrics
The wine list at O'Charley's Murfreesboro is exactly what you'd expect from a Southern comfort chain — short, familiar, and built for the person who just wants a glass of something while they wait on chicken tenders. It doesn't try to be anything it isn't, which is either refreshing or deflating depending on why you're here. The saving grace: the pricing is genuinely honest for what you're getting.
The list runs about 10-20 labels deep, leaning hard on California mass-market workhorses — Kendall-Jackson, Robert Mondavi Private Selection, Cupcake, Barefoot. There's no Old World presence to speak of, no regional Tennessee producers, no natural wine flirtation, nothing that would make a wine-curious diner lean in. It's essentially the wine aisle at a mid-tier grocery store poured into stemware. That said, within its lane, the list is consistent and predictable in a way that won't disappoint anyone who ordered Kendall-Jackson Chardonnay last time and wants the same experience tonight.
You're looking at 8-12 by-the-glass options that mirror the bottle list — all familiar California names, mostly whites and reds in the sweet-to-approachable spectrum. At $6-$9 a glass, the per-pour pricing is hard to argue with. Don't expect rotation or anything seasonal; this is a set-it-and-forget-it program.
Kendall-Jackson Vintner's Reserve Chardonnay — $8
At $8 a glass on a list retailing around $13 a bottle, this is a near-retail pour of one of California's most consistent crowd-pleasing Chards. You know exactly what you're getting and you're not getting hosed for it.
Robert Mondavi Private Selection Cabernet Sauvignon
It gets overlooked next to the sweeter options that tend to dominate orders here, but this Cab at $8 a glass is a legitimate food wine — grippy enough to hold up against a burger or a steak special without embarrassing itself.
Barefoot Moscato
At $6 it's not a rip-off, but Barefoot Moscato is grocery store wine in the most literal sense — you can grab a bottle for $8 at Kroger on the way in. If you're going sweet, spend the extra dollar and grab the Cupcake instead.
Kendall-Jackson Vintner's Reserve Chardonnay + Chicken Tenders
KJ Chard's soft oak and ripe apple character plays nicely against the crispy, salty coating on the tenders — it's a casual, low-stakes match that just works without overthinking it.
Wednesday — Chain-standard half-price wine night — select bottles and glasses at half price, typically all day or during dinner hours. Confirm current participation at the Murfreesboro location before making it your whole plan.
✔️ The Bottom Line
O'Charley's isn't where you come for a wine experience, but if you're here for the food and want a fair pour at a fair price, the list delivers exactly that. Send a friend here for the Wednesday half-price wine night and keep expectations calibrated.

Wasabi is a fun spot for teppanyaki and sushi, but the wine list is an afterthought dressed up as a menu section. Order the plum wine, enjoy the hibachi show, and save the serious bottle for somewhere else.

Downtown Murfreesboro · Murfreesboro · Brewpub
Blackhorse is a genuinely good brewpub, and you should absolutely order a pint. The wine list, though, is purely functional — it exists so the person at the table who doesn't drink beer has something to order, and it doesn't pretend to be anything more than that.

Logan's Roadhouse in Murfreesboro isn't trying to impress you with wine, and it succeeds. Save your wine budget for somewhere that's actually spending a moment thinking about it — here, order the whiskey.

Chili's wine program is a checkbox, not a commitment — and the Murfreesboro location is no exception. Drink the margaritas, eat the ribs, and don't let anyone at the table order the bottle.

Puckett's is a great night out for live music and serious BBQ — but the wine list is here because it has to be, not because anyone really wanted it. Stick to the A. Marshall pours during happy hour and let the food do the talking.

Toot's is a wings-and-beer operation with three anonymous California wines tacked on as an afterthought. Order the beer, order the sangria pitcher, and save the wine conversation for somewhere else.

Cheddar's wine program exists to check a box, not to serve you well. Order a cocktail or a beer — they've actually put thought into those — and save the wine for a restaurant that cares.

BJ's Denton is a beer hall that happens to stock wine, and the list makes that priority crystal clear. If you must drink wine here, come on a Tuesday — Half Off Wine Tuesday is the one thing this program does that actually earns a tip of the glass.

Houlihan's Denton is not a wine destination, and it has no interest in being one. The one genuine reason to order wine here is Tuesday — half-price bottles all day is a deal worth setting a calendar reminder for, especially if you're grabbing the Portillo or the Bloodroot.
