Order a margarita, skip the wine list

Wingman Metrics
The wine list at Chili's Murfreesboro is exactly what you'd expect from a national chain running the same laminated insert from Tennessee to Tacoma. It's not a wine list so much as a formality — a few options slotted in between the Presidente Margaritas and the Frozen Mango options. Nobody came here for the Burgundy.
The selection is about as deep as a kiddie pool in July. We're talking house red and house white, both California domestic mass-market pours with no producer named, no vintage listed, and no reason to ask follow-up questions. There's no regional curiosity here, no attempt to match the food with anything interesting, and no signal that anyone on the corporate end thought wine was worth more than a line item. The entire program could be summarized in one sentence: it exists.
You get roughly four to six glass options depending on the day, and they all live in the same zip code of anonymous and inoffensive. At $5 a glass, the pricing is genuinely fair — possibly the most honest thing about this list. But fair pricing on wine you can't identify isn't a win; it's a consolation prize.
House Red Wine — $5
At $5 a glass with a markup that's essentially at retail, it's the least offensive way to get a pour of something red with your ribs. Low bar, cleared.
House White Wine
If you're eating fajitas and want something cold and neutral, the house white at $5 gets out of the way and lets the food do the talking. That's about the best endorsement we can give it.
House Red Wine
If you're ordering a bottle at $18-$28 for an unnamed, unbranded house red with no producer or vintage to hang your hat on, you're paying restaurant markup for a mystery. Just get the margarita — at least Chili's knows what they're doing there.
House White Wine + Fajitas
The neutral, low-acid profile of the house white won't fight the spice and char of the fajitas — it just sits there politely while the real flavor show happens on the sizzling plate. Sometimes that's enough.
❌ The Bottom Line
Chili's wine program is a checkbox, not a commitment — and the Murfreesboro location is no exception. Drink the margaritas, eat the ribs, and don't let anyone at the table order the bottle.

Wasabi is a fun spot for teppanyaki and sushi, but the wine list is an afterthought dressed up as a menu section. Order the plum wine, enjoy the hibachi show, and save the serious bottle for somewhere else.

Blackhorse is a genuinely good brewpub, and you should absolutely order a pint. The wine list, though, is purely functional — it exists so the person at the table who doesn't drink beer has something to order, and it doesn't pretend to be anything more than that.

Logan's Roadhouse in Murfreesboro isn't trying to impress you with wine, and it succeeds. Save your wine budget for somewhere that's actually spending a moment thinking about it — here, order the whiskey.

O'Charley's isn't where you come for a wine experience, but if you're here for the food and want a fair pour at a fair price, the list delivers exactly that. Send a friend here for the Wednesday half-price wine night and keep expectations calibrated.

Puckett's is a great night out for live music and serious BBQ — but the wine list is here because it has to be, not because anyone really wanted it. Stick to the A. Marshall pours during happy hour and let the food do the talking.

Toot's is a wings-and-beer operation with three anonymous California wines tacked on as an afterthought. Order the beer, order the sangria pitcher, and save the wine conversation for somewhere else.
