The list at New York Prime reads exactly like you'd expect from a high-end Atlanta steakhouse — California-heavy, recognizable labels, and prices that remind you this place knows its audience. It's a confident list, not a curious one. If you came here hoping to stumble across a grower Champagne or a Northern Rhône surprise, reset those expectations now.
142 labels sounds like depth until you realize the majority is California Cabernet and Napa-adjacent red blends — the crowd-pleasing backbone of every upscale chophouse in America. There's a reasonable Pinot Noir section with solid names like Cristom Vineyards 'Mt. Jefferson Cuvée' from Eola-Amity Hills and Belle Glos 'Dairyman' from Russian River, which at least shows some regional range beyond Napa. The white wine program is thin for a list this size — a handful of Chardonnays, a Sancerre, and Cloudy Bay as the token Sauvignon Blanc. Old World representation is barely there: a Chablis, a Haut-Médoc, and the Sancerre are doing most of the heavy lifting for Europe.
Thirty-six by-the-glass options is a genuinely impressive number, and the range covers whites, rosé, and reds with enough variety to find something decent without committing to a bottle. The glass list includes proper wines like the Domaine Masson-Blondelet Sancerre Thauvenay and Flowers Chardonnay from Sonoma Coast — not just filler pours. That said, at $12–$36 a glass, you're paying restaurant-in-a-hotel prices, so choose deliberately.
Cristom Vineyards Pinot Noir 'Mt. Jefferson Cuvée', Eola-Amity Hills — null
Cristom is one of the more serious producers on this list — their Mt. Jefferson Cuvée consistently punches above its price point, and in a sea of California Cab, it's a welcome change of pace that actually works with red meat.
Domaine Masson-Blondelet Sancerre Thauvenay 2023
Most people at a steakhouse default to red without a second thought, but this Sancerre is the smart opener — bright, mineral, and actually interesting. It's one of the few wines on this list that signals someone was paying attention.
Cloudy Bay Sauvignon Blanc, Marlborough 2022
Cloudy Bay was exciting in 1990. In 2024, it's a $20 retail bottle that steakhouses use as a white wine placeholder. At New York Prime's markup, you're paying a serious premium for a wine you could grab at any grocery store.
Viña Cobos Bramare Malbec 'Lujan de Cuyo', Mendoza 2020 + Prime Dry-Aged Ribeye
A big Argentine Malbec from Cobos — one of Mendoza's top producers — has the structure and dark fruit weight to hold up against dry-aged beef without the Napa Cab price tag. It's the move if you want red meat harmony without spending an extra $50 on a bottle.
The Bottom Line
New York Prime's wine list is exactly what it needs to be for its audience — safe, recognizable, and priced for expense accounts. If you know what you want and don't mind paying for it, you'll be fine; just don't come looking for discovery.

Kinship is the Wild Card badge in its purest form: a butcher shop and sandwich counter moonlighting as a legitimate wine destination, with a sommelier on staff and a tasting menu that'll run you $325 a head. Come for the meat, stay because the wine list earned it.
