Wingman Metrics
The wine list at Avi's reads like a steakhouse greatest hits compilation — recognizable names, approachable prices, and zero surprises. At 77 labels, it's not a thin list, but it's clearly built for the guest who wants a Cab with their steak, not the one who's hunting for a grower Champagne. That's fine. There's a place for every list, and this one does its job.
The list is heavy on California reds, which makes sense when the menu is built around beef. You'll find Decoy, Juggernaut, Tribute, and Greenwing in the mid-tier, plus The Prisoner Red Blend for those who want to spend up a bit. The Italian flank gets a respectable nod with the Brancaia Sangiovese Blend and Maso Canali Pinot Grigio. Whites are serviceable but don't ask too much of them — you've got a Nik Weis Riesling sneaking in as the lone serious Old World white, which is a small but welcome outlier. Burgundy fans get the Louis Jadot Unoaked Chardonnay and a Domaine St. Laurent Pinot Noir, though neither is a deep cellar discovery.
Eighteen by-the-glass options is genuinely generous for a suburban steakhouse, covering everything from La Marca Prosecco to The Prisoner Red Blend at the top end. The glass-to-bottle pricing tracks consistently at roughly 4x, which is standard and not abusive. The range doesn't rotate or surprise, but if you want a Pinot Grigio before your ribeye lands, you've got two to choose from.
The Bottom Line
Avi's wine list is exactly what a neighborhood steakhouse should have — fair prices, enough variety to keep a table of six happy, and a few quiet overachievers hiding in plain sight. It won't excite a serious wine nerd, but it won't insult them either. If you're in Cumming and need a solid bottle with your steak, you can do this without regret.

Tam's BackStage is doing exactly what a neighborhood restaurant wine list should do: keep it accessible, keep the markup fair, and make sure almost everything is available by the glass. It's not going to win any awards for adventurousness, but the Crossings at $9 a pour and Centine at $39 a bottle give you genuine value in a list that could have coasted on Canyon Road alone. Send a friend here when they want a solid glass without a lesson.

The Ridge is a solid night out if you're in Forsyth County and want a steak with a side of live music and forest air — the wine program just isn't the reason to come. Until the list is published and verifiable, order something bold and red, enjoy your filet, and let the scenery do the heavy lifting.

Santa Maria is a genuine surprise for Cumming — a 26-bottle list that manages to be both approachable and quietly adventurous, with fair pricing and some real personality in the whites. We don't have enough intel on the staff or the floor experience to call it a Rager, but the wine program itself earns a Wild Card: it's doing things you wouldn't expect, and that's worth showing up for.

The real headline here is Friday: half-price bottles under $250, which is a legitimately good deal in any zip code. Add a sommelier in a neighborhood grill context and Tin Cup earns a look that most Cumming restaurants don't. We'd go in on a Friday, ask for a recommendation, and let the staff do their job — that's what they're there for.

Gasthaus Tirol isn't a wine bar, and nobody's driving from Atlanta for the list — but for a German restaurant in suburban Cumming, the wine program is legitimately thoughtful in spots. Fair prices across the board, every bottle available by the glass, and a handful of German-specific picks that actually match the menu make this a solid call if you're already there for the schnitzel. Order the Malbec or explore the Dornfelder and you'll leave happy.

· Cumming, GA · Italian
GrapeVine's Casual Italian is a solid neighborhood spot where the wine list won't blow your mind but also won't insult your wallet. If the Abruzzo regional thread holds up on the actual menu, there's a decent, food-friendly red waiting for you alongside the Baked Ziti or Chicken Pamplona. Check the menu directly before you go — this one earns its Reliable badge by doing the basics right.

· Buford · Steakhouse
Bare Bones Steakhouse has a wine list that feels like an afterthought — five crowd-pleasing reds, no whites, no by-the-glass transparency, and no sign that anyone is paying close attention to what's in the cellar or how it's priced. If you're here for the steak, you'll get through dinner just fine with a Cab from this list. But if wine is part of why you're going out, there are better places to spend that money in the greater Buford area.

· Newnan · Steakhouse
Graysons puts together a wine list that would hold its own in Atlanta, let alone Newnan. The by-the-glass depth is the real headline — 36 options with fair pricing means you can explore without committing to a bottle or breaking the bank. If you're in Coweta County and want a proper glass of wine with your steak, this is your spot.

· Braselton · Steakhouse
Marc Bar & Restaurant is essentially the estate dining room of Chateau Elan winery, and the wine list makes no attempt to be anything else — every pour is an in-house production. If you're already on property and curious about Georgia wine, the pricing is fair and the by-the-glass availability across the full list is genuinely guest-friendly. But if you're traveling specifically for a serious wine experience alongside your steak, this list will leave you wanting.
