The wine list at Myrtle Beach Beer and Wine reads like the retail shelf at a gas station that got ambitious. Forty-nine labels sounds like a real program until you start counting how many of those slots belong to 14 Hands and Apothic. This is a beach-town bottle shop doing what beach-town bottle shops do: stocking what sells, not what impresses.
The list leans hard on mass-market brands built for brand recognition, not for drinking well. 14 Hands alone accounts for four SKUs — Cabernet, Merlot, Hot to Trot, and Riesling — which tells you everything about the curation philosophy here. The 19 Crimes trifecta (Red Blend, The Banished, The Warden) shows up too, because Instagram-friendly labels move units at the beach. There are flickers of something better — the Antinori Santa Cristina is a legitimate producer even if it's an entry-level offering, and the Angel Nero d'Avola at least gestures toward a grape most Myrtle Beach visitors have never heard of — but they're buried under an avalanche of Apothic.
No confirmed by-the-glass program was found, which tracks for a bottle shop format. If you're here, you're buying a bottle to take to the beach or cracking something at the counter. Don't expect a curated pour list — the format doesn't really support one.
