Wingman Metrics
The wine list at Max's Grille reads like a greatest hits album from California wine country — familiar, comfortable, and engineered for Mizner Park regulars who know what they like. There's nothing here that's going to challenge you, but there's also nothing that's going to embarrass you in front of your dinner date. It's a list built for the room.
Eighty to one hundred twenty labels sounds like a real wine program until you notice the same reliable California names doing most of the heavy lifting — Rombauer, Jordan, Duckhorn, Stag's Leap. France and Italy get a seat at the table but it's clearly a supporting role, with Whispering Angel holding down the rosé flag for the Provençal contingent. The list skews New World safe with enough recognizable labels to make ordering easy and enough bottle depth to push past the $100 mark if you're feeling generous. What you won't find is much discovery — no esoteric producers, no obscure regions, no real reason to linger over the list.
Fifteen to twenty-five options by the glass is genuinely solid, and the price range of $12–$18 is fair enough for Boca Raton's cost of living. The pours track closely with the bottle list — expect the Rombauer Chardonnay and Whispering Angel to do a lot of work here. Rotation doesn't appear to be aggressive, so don't come in hoping for something new every visit.
Jordan Cabernet Sauvignon, Alexander Valley — $38 (estimated entry bottle)
Jordan consistently punches above its price class — structured, food-friendly, and one of the more honest Cab buys on a list like this. If Monday's half-price promotion applies to it, it becomes a no-brainer.
Stag's Leap Wine Cellars Chardonnay, Napa Valley
Everyone reaches for the Rombauer, and that's exactly why you shouldn't. Stag's Leap brings Napa Chardonnay with more restraint and less butter-bomb drama — it's the smarter order that most tables walk right past.
Rombauer Chardonnay, Carneros
Rombauer is the Ugg boot of Chardonnay — wildly popular and marked up accordingly wherever it appears. You're paying for the name recognition on a list like this, and restaurant markup makes it the worst value in the glass.
Whispering Angel Rosé, Côtes de Provence + Wood-grilled salmon
Provençal rosé and grilled fish is not a revelation, but it works every single time — the wine's minerality and dry strawberry notes cut through the char without fighting the fish. Sometimes the obvious answer is obvious for a reason.
Monday — A widely mentioned 'Wine Down Monday' promotion offers half-price bottles on many selections. Specific terms and eligible labels could not be fully verified — confirm directly with the restaurant before visiting.
✔️ The Bottom Line
Max's Grille is a dependable neighborhood wine stop dressed in upscale casual clothing — the list won't move you, but it won't disappoint you either. If you can get there on a Monday and that half-price bottle deal is still running, it earns a legitimate night out; call ahead and confirm before you make the drive.

Madison's wine list is the restaurant equivalent of a firm handshake — reliable, familiar, and unlikely to disappoint or impress. Send a friend here if they want a safe, solid bottle with a good steak; steer them elsewhere if they're looking for something to talk about.

Novello is the best Italian wine list in Boca Raton you're likely to find, and the BTG program alone is worth the trip. Just go in knowing the markups reflect the zip code, not a bargain hunter's paradise.

Savia is doing something genuinely uncommon in Boca Raton: building a wine list around a single region with real intention and credible producers. The markup stings and the list won't satisfy everyone, but if you care about Sicilian wine at all, this is the most interesting glass you'll find in the city.

Meat Market Boca is a reliable wine destination for steakhouse standards — the list is deep enough to be interesting, the by-the-glass program is stronger than average, and Wine Mondays turn a steep list into a genuinely smart night out. Show up Tuesday through Sunday expecting to pay for the room; show up Monday and actually enjoy the wine.

Dorsia's wine list is exactly what it wants to be — polished, crowd-pleasing, and priced for a room that's spending freely. If you're after discovery or value, you'll have to work for it; if you're here for the scene and a great steak, Caymus and a Super Tuscan have you covered.

Louie Bossi's isn't going to win any awards for wine curation, but that daily half-price bottle program is a legitimate reason to show up. Order an entrée, pick strategically, and you'll drink better than the list price would ever suggest.
