The wine list at Lamaii opens with a section called 'Salinity & Spark' and immediately you know someone here is paying attention. Fifty-eight labels isn't a lot, but the curation is sharp enough that the size feels intentional rather than lazy. This isn't the wine list you expect to find at a Thai restaurant in Las Vegas.
The list is organized into distinct sections — a by-the-glass daily rotation, a deep grower Champagne program, skin-contact wines, and a handful of bottles covering the expected red and white bases. The grower Champagne section is genuinely impressive for a restaurant of this type, with nine Spécial Club bottlings from producers like Pierre Gimonnet, Moussé Fils, and Philippe Glavier. The everyday bottle selection is lean but picks are smart: Turley, Massican, Selbach-Oster — these aren't filler wines. The main gap is depth on the red side, where options thin out quickly beyond a Nero d'Avola and a Bordeaux.
Eleven pours covering Cava, Pinot Grigio, Sauvignon Blanc, two Rieslings, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Nero d'Avola, Bordeaux, Zinfandel, and Cab — nearly all sitting at $15. That's a legitimate range for the price, and whoever selected these wasn't pulling off a generic distributor sheet. The Raimund Prum 'Essence' and Selbach-Oster Piesporter on the same by-the-glass list is a small thing that signals a lot.
Selbach-Oster Piesporter Spätlese Riesling 2022 — $15/glass
An estate-level German Riesling with serious pedigree poured by the glass at $15 is the kind of thing that disappears at most restaurants or gets hidden on a specialty list. Here it's just sitting in the daily rotation, which is exactly where it should be.
Moussé Fils Spécial Club 'Fortes Terres' Brut 2018
Moussé Fils farms biodynamically in the Vallée de la Marne and makes some of the most textural, Meunier-driven Champagne out there. The 'Fortes Terres' is a single-vineyard expression that most people at this restaurant will walk right past on their way to the Gimonnet. Don't.
Far Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon 2019
At $14 a glass it's not a rip-off exactly, but it's the most anonymous bottle on the list. In a program with this much personality everywhere else, Far Mountain Cab feels like a placeholder for the guest who just wants 'a red' and won't look further. You can do better here.
Raimund Prum 'Essence' Riesling 2023 + Any spice-forward Thai dish on the menu
Off-dry German Riesling and high-heat Thai cuisine is one of the most reliable pairings in food and wine — the residual sugar cushions the chili burn and the acidity cuts right through rich coconut-based sauces. The Prum 'Essence' is light enough to let the food lead.
The Bottom Line
