Wingman Metrics
Sixty-two labels and 22 by-the-glass options is a real commitment for a resort restaurant on Shelter Island — this isn't a phone-it-in wine program. The list leans coastal and summery, which makes complete sense when you're surrounded by water and rosé-seeking guests, but it does mean a few blind spots for anyone hunting something more serious.
The list covers meaningful ground: Burgundy (both white and red), Sancerre, Chianti Classico Riserva, Bordeaux, Willamette Valley Pinot, and Napa Cab all show up alongside a credible local contingent from Macari Vineyards on the North Fork. The rosé section alone has five options by the glass spanning Languedoc, Provence, Alsace, and Long Island — a deliberate and well-executed nod to the summer crowd. Where it falls short is depth below the surface: with 62 labels total, producers like Domaine Bertagna and Ken Wright Cellars are welcome names, but there's limited ability to go deeper into any single region or explore multiple vintages. It reads more like a curated hits list than a true deep dive.
Twenty-two by-the-glass options is genuinely strong for a resort restaurant — far more than most comparable venues bother with. Prices run $16 to $34 per glass, with the top end anchored by a 187ml Moët Champagne miniature and the Sancerre from Domaine Roger Champault at $25. The range skews toward crowd-pleasing entry points, but there's enough here — the Domaine Bertagna Bourgogne at $26/glass, the Petit Chablis at $25 — that serious wine drinkers aren't stranded.
The Bottom Line
The Terrace is doing more than most resort wine programs bother to do — 22 by-the-glass options, genuine regional variety, and local Long Island producers given real shelf space. The markup is the friction point: this is resort pricing, and you'll feel it most on recognizable labels like Moët. Lean into the Macari pours and the Chianti Classico Riserva, skip the obvious bottles, and the list more than holds its own for a summer night on Shelter Island.

· Kamuela · Restaurant
Merriman's Waimea runs a lean, genuinely curated wine program that rewards the curious drinker — and the happy hour $10 pours on a list that includes Sancerre and Failla Chardonnay is a deal you shouldn't walk past. If you're on the Big Island and want a glass of wine that actually reflects some thought, this is your stop.

SkyFire's bar list is small but surprisingly self-aware — the Gruet duo gives it local credibility, the Billecart-Salmon and Gautherin Chablis give it real range, and the zero-proof inclusions show someone actually thought about the full table. Markups trend steep as expected for a resort property, so pick your spots wisely. If you're settling in for a high desert sunset, start with the Gruet and let the list earn your next pour.

The Palm East Hampton is a strange and quietly wonderful anomaly: a legacy steakhouse chain running a six-bottle all-natural wine list priced like it forgot to account for zip code. If you are open to something unexpected and don't need your hand held, the Crochet Sancerre alone is worth the stop. Just don't come hoping for a deep cellar or a glass pour.
