Wingman Metrics
The wine list at the Garden Grille & Bar arrives looking exactly like the hotel it lives in — functional, inoffensive, and designed to cause no one any trouble. You're not getting a curated list here; you're getting the Greatest Hits of grocery store wine at lobby-bar prices. That said, at $9–$14 a glass, nobody's getting gouged.
The list tops out around 15 bottles, with California and New Zealand doing all the heavy lifting. Josh Cellars Cabernet, Meiomi Pinot Noir, Kim Crawford Sauvignon Blanc, Simi Chardonnay — these are the four pillars of the American chain-restaurant wine program, and they're all accounted for. There's no Old World presence, no natural wine curiosity, no interesting outliers. What you see is what you get, and what you get is recognizable labels that move quickly without requiring anyone to think too hard.
Six to ten pours by the glass, which is actually a decent ratio for a list this small. The usual suspects rotate through — expect the Kim Crawford and Josh Cab to be the most requested, because they always are. Don't expect weekly rotation or seasonal additions; this list has likely looked exactly this way for two years.
Simi Chardonnay — $11/glass
Simi is a legitimate Sonoma producer making honest, fruit-forward Chardonnay — not a brand that just slaps a pretty label on bulk wine. At hotel-bar pricing, this is your best bet for something that actually tastes like a winemaker showed up to work.
Meiomi Pinot Noir
Yes, it's everywhere. Yes, it's commercial. But Meiomi is a blended coastal California Pinot that genuinely drinks well slightly chilled on a hot Gulf Coast night, and most people ordering it at a hotel bar don't realize it. It's the move when you want something red that isn't heavy.
Josh Cellars Cabernet Sauvignon
Josh Cab is the most-ordered red in America by volume, which tells you everything about why you shouldn't order it here. It's fine. It's always fine. But you're at the beach — why are you ordering the most predictable Cabernet on the planet? At least try the Meiomi.
Kim Crawford Sauvignon Blanc + Grilled Chicken
Kim Crawford's Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc has enough citrus brightness and herbal snap to cut through whatever sauce comes on the grilled chicken, and it stays refreshing in a room that probably isn't wine-cellar cool. It's an easy call that actually works.
❌ The Bottom Line
This is a wine list for people who need wine with dinner and aren't interested in making it a thing — and it delivers exactly that without embarrassing anyone. If wine is important to your night, eat somewhere else; if you just want a glass of something recognizable while you watch the Gulf, you'll be fine.
Downtown Gulfport · Gulfport · Steakhouse
The Rack House wine list is exactly what a Gulf Coast steakhouse should be — unpretentious, fairly priced, and wide enough by the glass that you don't feel cornered. We'd send a friend here without hesitation, just with the note to skip the Moscato and go straight for the Ste. Michelle.

This is not a destination for wine drinkers — it's a slot machine bar that happens to stock one bubbly. Come for the Sunday bottle deal at Carter Green Steakhouse next door, not for anything happening at the bar itself.

Island View Casino · Gulfport · Seafood / Raw Bar
The food concept is solid, but the wine program is an afterthought in a place that should know better — oysters are practically begging for a decent Muscadet or even a crisp rosé, and the kitchen deserves backup. Come for the shellfish, drink the bubbles on Sunday, and lower your expectations below sea level.

This is not a wine destination — it's a place to sleep near the highway that happens to have wine on the menu because it's legally a full-service hotel. Order a beer, or head somewhere else entirely.

Gulfport Beachfront / Highway 90 · Gulfport · Hotel Bistro
This is a wine list that exists because the hotel is required to have one. If you're sleeping here, grab a glass of the Clean Slate Riesling and call it a night — but don't make a trip to the Courtyard Bistro for the wine program.

This list was designed for convenience, not conversation. If you're killing time before a flight, grab a glass of Kim Crawford and call it a day — but don't come here expecting anything worth talking about at the table.

You're not coming to Hy-Vee Market Grille for a wine revelation — but on a Wednesday, with half-price pours and half-price sushi, it's one of the better casual deals in town. Manage expectations, bring cash, and embrace the absurdity.

J. Alexander's Boca Raton is a reliable, no-drama wine stop that won't embarrass you on a business dinner or a first date — just go in knowing the markups are real and steer toward Jordan or Sonoma-Cutrer instead of the list's cheaper options. We'd send a friend here for the steak, not the wine discovery.
