Wingman Metrics
The wine list at the Courtyard Bistro is exactly what you expect from a hotel lobby bar: a laminated insert of safe, recognizable labels designed to offend no one and excite no one. It's the wine equivalent of continental breakfast — functional, familiar, and not the reason you're here. If you're staying at the hotel and just need a glass after a long drive down Highway 90, fine. Otherwise, lower your expectations now.
About 10–15 bottles cover the bases: California Chardonnay (Simi Sonoma), a couple of Pacific Northwest options (MERF Cab, Charles & Charles Rosé), an Italian Pinot Grigio from Tommasi, a German Riesling via Clean Slate, and a Mionetto Prosecco split for good measure. There's no through-line here beyond 'widely distributed and easy to pronounce.' Kenwood Pinot Noir and Clos du Bois Merlot round out the reds — both solidly grocery-store tier. No natural wine, no local producers, no old-world depth worth noting.
With 8–11 pours by the glass, the BTG list covers nearly the entire menu, which sounds generous until you realize the menu itself is tiny. Glass prices run $9–$19, which tracks with corporate Bistro pricing nationwide. Don't expect rotation — this list is set and held in place by Marriott corporate until further notice.
Charles & Charles Rosé, Columbia Valley — $35/bottle
At roughly $35 a bottle, this Washington Rosé is at least a decent wine for the setting — bright, versatile, and a cut above the house pour. It's not a steal (retail is under $12), but it's the most drinkable option on the list for a warm Gulf Coast evening.
Clean Slate Riesling, Germany
Nobody orders Riesling at a hotel bar in Mississippi, which is exactly why you should. It's the only wine on this list with any actual personality — a little off-dry, crisp, and well-suited to the humid coastal air. It'll outperform everything else here glass-for-glass.
Coastal Vines House Wine
A $6.99 retail bottle being poured at $28 is a 300% markup on wine that tastes like it costs $6.99. There is no scenario where this is the right call. Walk past it.
Tommasi 'Le Rosse' Pinot Grigio, Italy + Flatbread
The Tommasi Pinot Grigio is light, clean, and neutral enough to work with any of the flatbreads on the menu without competing. It's not a bold pairing, but in a hotel bistro setting, 'doesn't clash' is an achievement worth acknowledging.
❌ The Bottom Line
This is a wine list that exists because the hotel is required to have one. If you're sleeping here, grab a glass of the Clean Slate Riesling and call it a night — but don't make a trip to the Courtyard Bistro for the wine program.
Downtown Gulfport · Gulfport · Steakhouse
The Rack House wine list is exactly what a Gulf Coast steakhouse should be — unpretentious, fairly priced, and wide enough by the glass that you don't feel cornered. We'd send a friend here without hesitation, just with the note to skip the Moscato and go straight for the Ste. Michelle.

Island View Casino · Gulfport · Bar
This is not a destination for wine drinkers — it's a slot machine bar that happens to stock one bubbly. Come for the Sunday bottle deal at Carter Green Steakhouse next door, not for anything happening at the bar itself.

The food concept is solid, but the wine program is an afterthought in a place that should know better — oysters are practically begging for a decent Muscadet or even a crisp rosé, and the kitchen deserves backup. Come for the shellfish, drink the bubbles on Sunday, and lower your expectations below sea level.

I-10 / Highway 49 Corridor · Gulfport · Hotel Restaurant / American
This is not a wine destination — it's a place to sleep near the highway that happens to have wine on the menu because it's legally a full-service hotel. Order a beer, or head somewhere else entirely.

This is a wine list for people who need wine with dinner and aren't interested in making it a thing — and it delivers exactly that without embarrassing anyone. If wine is important to your night, eat somewhere else; if you just want a glass of something recognizable while you watch the Gulf, you'll be fine.

This list was designed for convenience, not conversation. If you're killing time before a flight, grab a glass of Kim Crawford and call it a day — but don't come here expecting anything worth talking about at the table.
