Wingman Metrics
The wine list at Casino Fandango's steakhouse reads exactly like you'd expect from an upscale-casual casino dining room in Nevada — California all the way, with the familiar faces front and center. There's nothing adventurous here, but nobody's coming to a Carson City steakhouse for a discovery session. This list exists to sell bottles alongside a ribeye, and it does exactly that.
The list leans hard into Napa and Sonoma, with a few Central Coast entries rounding things out. You'll find the steakhouse greatest hits — Caymus Cab, Jordan Cab, Meiomi Pinot, KJ Chardonnay — essentially a who's who of wine shop bestsellers. There's nothing wrong with any of these wines, but the lack of depth beyond the California mainstream means adventurous drinkers will hit a wall fast. No Rhône, no domestic Syrah, no Willamette Valley cameo — just the comfort zone, fully embraced.
The by-the-glass program runs 8-14 options, which is respectable for a casino steakhouse at this scale. Pours clock in between $10 and $18, a range that tracks with the bottle markups. Don't expect a rotating program — what's on the list today was probably on the list six months ago.
Jordan Cabernet Sauvignon — $40–$120 bottle range
Jordan consistently overdelivers for what it is — a polished, food-friendly Sonoma Cab that doesn't need a special occasion. If it's sitting at the lower end of the bottle range, it's the most honest pour on the list to put next to a ribeye.
Meiomi Pinot Noir
Most people at a steakhouse reach for the Cab by reflex, but Meiomi's soft, fruit-forward Pinot is actually a sleeper hit with the prime rib. It's not a serious wine, but it's crowd-friendly, approachable, and likely one of the more reasonably priced pours on the list.
Caymus Cabernet Sauvignon
Caymus is a fine wine that casino and steakhouse menus have learned to mark up aggressively because the name moves bottles. You're almost certainly paying a premium here for a wine you can find at Costco for significantly less. Save the splurge for something that isn't propping up a brand marketing budget.
Jordan Cabernet Sauvignon + Ribeye
Jordan's structured tannins and dark fruit cut through the fat on a well-marbled ribeye without overwhelming it. It's the classic steakhouse move, and there's a reason it's a classic — it works.
✔️ The Bottom Line
Casino Fandango Steakhouse delivers a wine list that's safe, California-centric, and marked up the way casino restaurants tend to be. It's not a destination for wine lovers, but if you're already here for the prime cuts, Jordan Cab and a good steak will sort you out just fine.
Casino Fandango · Carson City · American Grill / Casino Restaurant
The Governor's Grill wine program is strictly background noise — functional enough if you just need something in your glass while you watch the game, but not a reason to make any decisions about where you eat. Order a cocktail or a beer and put your dining energy toward the steak.

South Carson · Carson City · Pizza, Casual American
Mountain Mike's isn't trying to be a wine destination, and the list makes that abundantly clear. Grab a $5 Edna Valley if you need wine, then focus on the pizza — which is, frankly, the whole point.

West Side · Carson City · Bistro & Wine Café
West Side Bistro is a solid neighborhood wine café doing the right things with a small, California-focused list — just know the markups will sting a little. Send your friends here for a relaxed glass and a charcuterie board, not a deep-dive wine night.

Downtown / Casino Row · Carson City · American Café
TJ's Café is a solid spot for Indonesian-American comfort food inside a small Nevada casino, and the wine list is priced so low it's almost impossible to complain. Almost. Send your friends here for the nasi goreng; tell them to order a beer.

Cellar 8 is doing something genuinely rare — bringing a thoughtful, curiously assembled wine program to a downtown that didn't have one, inside a space that feels like it belongs to the neighborhood. Send your friends here, especially if they think Nevada is a cocktail state.

Northeast Carson / Basque Way · Carson City · French-inspired American bistro
Z Bistro isn't trying to be a wine destination, but it's clearly trying — and in a market where most restaurants phone it in, that effort shows. If you're eating here anyway, you're in good hands with a bottle.

Central / McClain Rd · Bentonville · Steakhouse
River Grille is a solid place to eat a steak in Bentonville, but the wine program — at least what we can verify — stops at dessert and Port while the main event stays in the dark. Order a cocktail with dinner and, if you must, grab a glass of Tawny at the end.

City Center / Bloomingdale Road · White Plains · Steakhouse
Morton's White Plains does exactly what Morton's is supposed to do: pour well-stored, recognizable California Cabernet at prices that sting a little, in a room that feels like it deserves them. If you want to go off-script, the Burgundy and Rhône options buried in the back of the list are worth the detour.

STK Denver is a place where wine exists to support a vibe, not to excite a drinker. If you're here for the scene and the steak, grab a glass of Bonanza at happy hour and call it a night — but don't come expecting the wine list to be part of the experience.
