Perry's Steakhouse & Grille – Chandler

Perry's arrives with a 77-bottle list that looks confident on paper — sparkling, whites, rosé, reds all accounted for, plus a respectable 37 by-the-glass program. But flip through it and the names start to feel familiar in a predictable way: Caymus, Rodney Strong, J. Lohr. This is a wine list built to comfort the crowd, not challenge it.

The list leans heavily on California and dips a toe into Europe — a Marqués de Cáceres Tempranillo here, a Rothschild Lafite 'Les Légendes' blend there — but it's really a California-first steakhouse card with some international garnish. The sparkling section earns genuine points: Crémant d'Alsace from Pierre Sparr, a Banfi Brachetto, and a house Premier Cru Champagne give bubbles more depth than most steakhouses bother with. Whites are safe — Mohua Sauvignon Blanc, Hartford Court Chardonnay, Dr. Loosen Riesling — competent but nothing that'll make your pulse quicken. The red wine section is where you'd expect steakhouse horsepower, and while Caymus Conundrum and Carmel Road show up, we don't see the deep-bench Napa Cab or Rhône depth that would push this into serious territory.

Thirty-seven by-the-glass options is an impressive number — more than most steakhouses twice the size bother to offer. Prices run from $9.50 to $49 a glass, which covers everything from approachable weeknight pours to splurge territory. The breadth is real; whether every pour is rotating with intention or just a static menu in disguise is harder to say.
