Small List, Big Swings, Zero Apologies

Wingman Metrics
Twelve bottles. That's the whole list. Before you bolt, know this: whoever built it was paying attention — Bedrock, Thorne & Daughters, Kermit Lynch, and a Corsican red that most Atlanta restaurants wouldn't touch with a ten-foot pole. This isn't a wine bar that defaulted to Meiomi and called it a day.
The list punches well above its weight for a 12-label program. You've got South African representation via Luddite's Saboteur Red Blend and Thorne & Daughters' Wanderer's Heart, both cult-ish producers that rarely show up on Atlanta wine lists. The Angelo Negro Langhe Nebbiolo Angelin brings some serious Piedmont credibility, and the Domaine Maestracci Clos Reginu from Corsica is the kind of pick that signals someone behind the scenes actually cares. Where it falls short: zero French whites, no Champagne or sparkling to speak of, and the New Zealand slot is filled by a perfectly fine but unremarkable Esk Valley Sauvignon Blanc.
By-the-glass options aren't broken out on the website, so we can't confirm the full pour program — but at bottle prices running $16.99 to $33.99, even the bottle is almost by-the-glass money. If they pour the Bedrock Ode to Lulu or the Outward Valdiguié by the glass, that's a genuinely exciting BTG lineup for Atlanta.
Angelo Negro Langhe Nebbiolo Angelin 2024 — $33.99
Langhe Nebbiolo from a respected Roero producer at under $34 a bottle? That's legitimately underpriced. This is Barolo's approachable younger sibling — real Nebbiolo character without the decade-long wait or the triple-digit tab.
Outward Wines Shell Creek Vineyard Valdiguié 2025
Most people see 'Valdiguié' and keep scrolling. Don't. This obscure Californian variety tastes somewhere between a Gamay and a light Pinot — low tannin, juicy, and crushable. Outward is doing serious small-production work and this one deserves a look.
Esk Valley Sauvignon Blanc 2024
Nothing wrong with it — it's perfectly competent Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc. But when you're surrounded by Corsican reds and South African blends, defaulting to the most predictable white on the list feels like ordering a cheeseburger at a ramen shop.
Kermit Lynch Côtes du Rhône VI 2024 + Charcuterie or cured meat board
Kermit Lynch's négociant Rhône bottling is exactly the kind of easy, food-friendly red that makes a charcuterie spread disappear. It's got enough Southern Rhône grip to cut through fatty cured meats without bullying anything on the board.
🎲 The Bottom Line
Vin Atl is doing something most Atlanta wine bars aren't: curating a short list with genuine intention instead of padding it with safe bets. At these prices, it's worth a stop even if you only come for one bottle.
West Midtown · Atlanta · Alpine / European
Avize is doing something genuinely rare in Atlanta: building a short wine list with actual conviction, pointed straight at the corners of Europe that deserve more attention. If you eat here and don't order something you've never heard of, you're doing it wrong.

By George is a fine place to drink wine if you know what you're walking into — a curated-but-safe list built for a stylish crowd that wants rosé and bubbles without friction. Come for the Crémant and the Tavel; don't expect to find anything that'll make you rethink your relationship with wine.

Nine Mile Station isn't a destination for wine nerds, but it's a perfectly decent place to drink something cold and recognizable while the Atlanta skyline does the heavy lifting. Come for the view, drink the Crémant, ignore the Rombauer.

St. Julep is a place to drink wine, not a place to drink well. If you're here for the skyline and the scene, pour the rosé and enjoy it — just don't come expecting the list to surprise you.

BeltLine · Atlanta · Cocktail Bar with Kitchen
The James Room is a cocktail bar first and a wine destination never — but the list is competent enough to get you through a bottle without frustration. Come for the atmosphere, order the Cava or the Sancerre, and let the cocktail menu handle the heavy lifting.

· Atlanta · Spanish Tapas
Boqueria's wine list is a dependable, Spain-only program that mostly does right by the food — fair prices, solid producers, and enough range to keep the table happy across a long night of tapas. Don't come expecting discovery; do come expecting to drink well without your wallet taking a hit.

Legacy West · Plano · Wine Bar
CRÚ Plano punches well above its Legacy West strip-mall setting — 300 bottles and a genuinely active specials calendar make this worth a dedicated visit, not just a last-resort pour before the movie. Just don't come looking for Burgundy and you'll leave happy.

Seven Hills · Henderson · Wine Bar
The Cask is a genuinely pleasant place to spend an evening — the vibe is right, the crowd is friendly, and the bar snacks do their job. But the wine list is overpriced brand recognition, not a curated program, and no amount of Tuesday specials changes the math on a $40 Josh Cellars.

Eastern & Sunset Corridor · Henderson · Wine Bar
Todd's is the kind of neighborhood wine bar Henderson needed — comfortable, well-run, and staffed by people who know what's in the bottle. The markups are real and the list won't surprise anyone, but if you want a reliably good glass of California wine and a solid small plate to go with it, this place delivers.
