You walk into a Four Seasons lounge expecting the usual safe-harbor resort list — Caymus, Jordan, maybe a token Burgundy — and TRUSS immediately corrects that assumption. The list opens with grower Champagne, Coravin pours of Insignia and Peter Michael, and a by-the-glass program that runs from $18 to $55 before you even get to the deep end. This is not an afterthought.
The list leans hard into California royalty — Screaming Eagle, Harlan, Shafer Hillside Select, Lokoya, Opus One — but the Champagne section is genuinely serious, stacking Krug Clos d'Ambonnay 2002, Salon 2013, Dom Pérignon P2 2002, and Bollinger R.D. 2007 against each other like a prestige cuvée cage match. Burgundy gets some love too, with Maxime Cheurlin Noellat Les Monts Luisants Morey-Saint-Denis Premier Cru available by Coravin and the stratospheric DRC Romanée-Conti 2022 sitting at $35,250 for those who need a number that makes their accountant cry. The Coravin program is a genuine standout — it cracks open bottles like Insignia and Peter Michael Belle Côte by the 2.5oz pour, which means you can chase a flight of icons without committing to a full bottle. Gaps exist in Italy and Spain, and there's almost nothing natural or biodynamic in sight, but within its California-Champagne-Burgundy triangle, the list has real ambition.
Twenty-plus standard BTG options running $18–$55 is a strong showing for a lounge, and the Coravin program — priced $33–$95 for 2.5oz pours — effectively doubles the interesting options. The Jordan Chardonnay Russian River Valley 2020 at $95/bottle equivalent and the Cristom Willamette Valley Pinot Noir 2023 at $110 represent the accessible end of the BTG spectrum, while the Coravin side lets you sip Insignia or Peter Michael Belle Côte in a way most restaurants simply won't offer.
Cristom Willamette Valley Pinot Noir 2023 — $110/bottle
Cristom is a serious Oregon producer making elegant, terroir-driven Pinot, and $110 at a Four Seasons resort — where Caymus runs $320 and ZD Pinot hits $195 — is about as reasonable as this list gets. It's the bottle that lets you drink well without writing a check you'll regret.
Egly-Ouriet Les Crayères Blanc de Noirs Ambonnay Grand Cru NV
Most people at a resort bar are reaching for Veuve or Dom, which means Egly-Ouriet — one of the most respected grower producers in Champagne — gets overlooked. Les Crayères is a benchmark Blanc de Noirs from a monopole plot in Ambonnay, and it will outperform most prestige cuvées at a fraction of the mental overhead.
Robert Mondavi Sauvignon Blanc 2022
Ninety dollars for a Robert Mondavi Sauvignon Blanc is a hard ask anywhere, but sitting next to Pascal Jolivet Attitude at $85 and FUTO Sauvignon Blanc from Stags Leap — a genuinely special wine — the Mondavi looks like a placeholder that forgot to leave. Skip it.
Far Niente Dolce Napa Valley 2019 + Cheese course or dessert board
Dolce is one of California's great late-harvest wines — lush, honeyed, and balanced — and it's exactly what you want when the evening winds down and someone orders something sweet or funky from a cheese selection. At $165 a bottle it's not cheap, but it's priced fairly for what it is and will close the night properly.
🎲 The Bottom Line
TRUSS is a resort wine list that actually tries, and in this category that's rarer than it sounds — the Coravin program alone is worth the visit if you care about drinking icons by the ounce. The markups are real and the bill will remind you where you are, but the depth and curation earn it a pass.

Castello di Amorosa is unabashedly a destination experience, and the wine list reflects that: captive audience, estate-only pours, pricing that leans on the setting as much as the wine. But the Italian-varietal focus is genuinely interesting, the courtyard is a legitimately great place to drink, and if you're already on Highway 29, there are worse ways to spend an afternoon.

Auro is the kind of wine list that justifies the Four Seasons room rate all on its own — stratospheric in ceiling, surprisingly thoughtful in its range, and staffed by people who clearly know what they're looking at. The markups are real and the prices are not for the faint of wallet, but if you're going to drop serious money on wine anywhere in Napa Valley, this list at least earns the ask.

House of Better is the rare casual wine garden where the list was assembled by someone who actually cares — Chateau Montelena and Ridge in a spa courtyard at fair prices is a genuine find. Send your friends here, tell them to start with a $9 sparkling pour and work their way into the Ridge.
