Wingman Metrics
The wine list at The Union is exactly what you'd expect from a comfort food spot in Milton — approachable, familiar, and priced without apology. Nothing here is going to make a wine nerd's pulse race, but it's also not going to make them reach for a beer out of despair. This is a list built for the table, not the trophy shelf.
Twenty-five labels covering reds, whites, and a gesture toward international variety — that's the whole show. The red side leans California-heavy with multiple Cabernets (Joel Gott 815, Jamieson Ranch Silver Spur, Mercer Bros.) and a handful of crowd-friendly alternatives like the Pessimist Red Blend and Trivento Malbec. There's some genuine range if you look for it: a Bodegas Covilla Tempranillo Rioja Crianza, a Franco Serra Nebbiolo Superiore, and a Chateau de Parenchere Bordeaux Blend give the list more geographic spread than most neighborhood American restaurants bother with. Whites follow a similar playbook — Chardonnay dominates, but the Columna Albariño from Rías Baixas and the Chateau Saint-Sulpice White Bordeaux show someone put at least a little thought into this beyond the obvious.
Every bottle on this list is also available by the glass, which is genuinely rare and worth noting — zero barrier to exploration. Prices run $8 to $17 per glass, keeping things accessible across the table. The glass-to-bottle ratio holds consistent, so you're not getting gouged for the convenience of a pour.
The Bottom Line
The Union's wine list is honest, fairly priced, and refreshingly complete on the by-the-glass front — every bottle available by the pour is a genuine convenience. It won't win any awards for depth or discovery, but the Rioja Crianza and Nebbiolo give adventurous drinkers somewhere to land. Send a friend here knowing the wine won't embarrass them or their wallet.
