Sixteen labels deep and you've basically seen the whole thing in thirty seconds. The Palace Diner's wine list reads like a grocery store endcap — familiar faces, safe choices, zero surprises. It's functional, and at a diner, that's probably the point.
The list splits cleanly into reds, whites, blush, and sparkling, with Robert Mondavi pulling triple duty across Merlot, Cab Sauv, and Chardonnay. There's a nod to the Hudson Valley with two Millbrook bottles — a Cabernet Franc and a Chardonnay — which is genuinely the most interesting move on this list. Everything else skews grocery-tier: Mark West Pinot Noir, Rosemount Shiraz, Sutter Home White Zinfandel. No old-world depth, no region exploration, no real ambition beyond covering the bases.
