Wingman Metrics
You walk into Schatzi's for the beer garden and the brats, and that's the right call. The wine list is a single page afterthought — ten labels, one glass pour, no vintage depth, no regional ambition. It reads like someone grabbed whatever was on the distributor's mid-tier price sheet and called it a day.
Ten bottles, all of them recognizable from the grocery store aisle: Caposaldo, Prophecy, Bar Dog, 19 Crimes, Fetzer. There's no old-world representation beyond an Italian Pinot Grigio and a pair of Proseccos, and nothing here suggests anyone gave the list a second look after the initial order. The Trivento Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon from Argentina is probably the most legitimate wine on the list, but it's surrounded by labels that exist to fill shelf space, not to excite a curious drinker. The only surprise is that The Seeker Riesling made the cut — at least it nods at the German theme of the place.
One glass pour. One. The 19 Crimes Rosé at $11/glass is your only option if you want wine by the glass, and at $11 for a bottle-price wine that retails around $12-14, the margin is doing some heavy lifting. If you want anything else on the list, it's bottle or nothing.
The Bottom Line
Schatzi's is a beer garden and it should be judged as one — the wine list exists only because it had to. If you're eating here, order the lager, not the Merlot. Come back for the bier; leave the wine glasses for somewhere that means it.

The Palace Diner isn't trying to be a wine destination, and the list makes that abundantly clear. If you're here for eggs and coffee, you're in the right place. If you do want a glass of wine, hunt down the Millbrook Cab Franc and feel good about supporting something local — everything else is purely incidental.

Olive Garden's wine list is exactly what you'd expect from a national chain that considers breadsticks the main event — functional, safe, and completely unambitious. Come for the pasta, drink the Chianti Classico, and don't expect anything more.

Heritage punches well above its strip-mall expectations with a lean but genuinely thoughtful wine list that sneaks in orange wine, old-vine Verdejo, and Loire Chenin between the Prosecco and the GunBun Cab. If you're in the Hudson Valley and want a low-risk way to drink something interesting by the glass without a big commitment, this list earns the stop.
