The wine list at Cosimo's leads with a serious sparkling section — Pol Roger, Veuve Clicquot, Dom Pérignon, Cristal — which is not something you expect from a brick-oven pizza joint in the Hudson Valley. Fifty-five labels across the full list gives you enough to work with, and the by-the-glass count of 19 means you're not stuck choosing between house red and house white.
The sparkling lineup is legitimately the star here: Bisol 'Crede' Brut Prosecco sits alongside Moussé Fils Champagne Rosé and Pierre Sparr Crémant d'Alsace, which tells you someone thought carefully about this section beyond the obvious Veuve-and-Dom crowd-pleasers. The white wine side covers reasonable ground — Giacomo Fenocchio's Roero Arneis brings some Italian soul, the H&M Hofer Grüner Veltliner adds a Central European note, and Isabelle Garrault Sancerre rounds things out at $65/bottle. Brotherhood Winery Riesling is a nod to local Hudson Valley production, which fits the surroundings. The list doesn't dig deep into reds or old-world regions beyond Italy and France, but for its scope, it punches reasonably well.
Nineteen by-the-glass options at $10–$17 is a genuinely good spread for a casual Italian restaurant. You can pour Jeio Prosecco at $11/glass or step up to the Giacomo Fenocchio Roero Arneis at $14/glass, which is a legitimate quality jump for three bucks. The glass program feels like the main event here — more so than the bottle list.

Cosimo's Poughkeepsie is doing more with its wine list than the casual Italian format usually demands — especially in the sparkling section, which has genuine range and fair pricing. It's not a destination wine list, but if you're eating here, you won't feel like wine was an afterthought. Lean into the by-the-glass program and let someone else order the Cristal.

Schatzi's is a beer garden and it should be judged as one — the wine list exists only because it had to. If you're eating here, order the lager, not the Merlot. Come back for the bier; leave the wine glasses for somewhere that means it.
