Wingman Metrics
You're steps from one of the world's great natural spectacles, and the wine list reads like the endcap at a mid-tier grocery store. Eight labels, all of them familiar to anyone who's ever waited in a Costco checkout line. This is a drinks program built around Long Island Iced Teas, and it shows.
The list is essentially a greatest-hits compilation of mass-market brands — Kendall-Jackson, Apothic, Josh Cellars, Kim Crawford — the kind of names that move units at airports and chain restaurants nationwide. There's no regional story here, no independent producers, no acknowledgment that you're dining near one of North America's most storied wine regions, the Niagara Peninsula, which sits literally across the river. California dominates by sheer volume, with Italy and New Zealand rounding out the token international presence. If you came to Niagara Falls and wanted to explore local terroir, this list will not help you.
All eight bottles on the list are available by the glass, which is convenient but also a bit telling — there's no bottle program worth speaking of. Pours run $8–$13, which sounds reasonable until you remember these are wines that retail for $8–$15 a bottle. The markup on something like Apothic Red or Josh Cellars Cab is aggressive for what amounts to juice that's been sitting in a back-of-house rack.
Kim Crawford Sauvignon Blanc, New Zealand — $13
Still overpriced relative to retail, but at least Kim Crawford delivers consistent, crisp Marlborough character — grassy, citrusy, reliably refreshing. It's the one pour here that tastes like a wine someone actually thought about.
14 Hands Merlot, Columbia Valley, Washington
Nobody orders Merlot at a TGI Fridays, which means you won't hear anyone judging you when you do. Washington Merlot punches above its weight class, and 14 Hands is an honest, fruit-forward pour that holds its own better than the California options on this list.
Apothic Red Blend, California
A $10–$12 bottle at any supermarket. At $13 a glass, you're paying chain-restaurant markup on a wine engineered in a focus group. The sweetness gets cloying fast, and there's nothing here a cocktail couldn't do better.
La Marca Prosecco 187ml, Italy + Loaded Potato Skins
The bubbles cut through the cheese and sour cream, the acidity wakes everything up, and the single-serve bottle means you're not committing to anything. It's the most fun move on a list that doesn't offer many.
❌ The Bottom Line
Order a cocktail. The wine list exists because restaurants are expected to have one, not because anyone here cares about what's in your glass. If you want to drink wine in Niagara Falls, cross the bridge and find a winery.

Kitchen 76 is a wine destination that happens to serve excellent Italian food, not the other way around. If you're near Niagara-on-the-Lake and you haven't made a reservation here yet, fix that.

This is a chain wine list doing chain wine list things — nothing more, nothing less. If you're in Niagara Falls and care about what's in your glass, find a local spot; if you're already committed to LongHorn, order the Riesling and put your energy into the steak.

Koi is a perfectly competent casino wine list — safe producers, limited range, and markups that reflect the captive audience. If you're here for the food and the vibe, order the Riesling and don't overthink it.

The Western Door is exactly what a well-run casino steakhouse wine program should be — dependable, properly stored, and wide enough to keep everyone at the table happy. It's not a destination for wine lovers, but it's a solid Reliable that won't embarrass you on a business dinner or a night out before the falls.

La Cascata is the rare casino restaurant where the wine list doesn't feel like an afterthought — there's real Italian depth here if you look past the headline names. Just know you're paying casino prices for the privilege, and no one's coming to check on your glass knowledge.

Bella Vista isn't trying to be a wine destination, and it doesn't pretend to be — but the pricing is fair, the glass selection is generous, and there are a few legitimate bottles worth ordering if you know where to look. Send a friend here for dinner without guilt; just steer them away from the Moscato.

We're not here to pile on a chain restaurant — Applebee's knows exactly what it is. But if wine matters to you even a little, order a cocktail and save your wine night for somewhere that's actually trying.

Copper Rill isn't going to blow anyone's mind, but for a riverfront dinner in Idaho Falls, the wine list is honest, fairly priced, and has at least two or three bottles worth caring about. Send a friend here for the Lan Crianza and the river view — just don't expect anyone behind the bar to geek out with you about it.

This is a wine list for people who aren't really thinking about wine, and there's no shame in ordering a cocktail instead. If you're staying at the hotel, grab a glass at the bar and call it a night — just don't expect the list to reward any real attention.
