Wingman Metrics
The wine list at Bella Vista reads like a well-stocked neighborhood Italian restaurant — nothing that'll make your jaw drop, but nothing embarrassing either. At $7–$12 a glass and bottles topping out around $42, the pricing is honest for a resort property where they could easily get away with charging more. You're not here for a wine pilgrimage, but you won't feel ripped off.
The list covers a reasonable spread of regions — California, Argentina, Chile, Italy, France, Germany, and a nod to New York's Finger Lakes with Dr. Konstantin Frank. The Italy representation is thin for a restaurant with 'Ristorante' in the name: one Carpineto Chianti Classico Riserva and a couple of Pinot Grigios aren't exactly a deep dive into the boot. Argentina shows up decently with Trapiche and Bousquet, and there are some legitimate California bottles like Mettler Family Vineyards Lodi Petite Sirah and The Critic Napa Cab. The floor is held up by value-tier brands like Camelot and Lindemans, which keep the accessible end accessible but don't inspire much excitement.
With roughly 22 options by the glass mirroring the full bottle list, nearly everything on the menu is available as a pour — that's a genuine plus for groups with mixed preferences. The glass price ceiling of $12 is refreshingly un-greedy for a resort setting. Rotation appears minimal; this looks like a list that gets set and largely left alone.
Carpineto Chianti Classico Riserva 2020 — $42
Carpineto is a reliable Chianti producer and their Riserva typically retails around $20–25, so $42 at a resort restaurant is a fair markup. For an Italian spot, this is the bottle that actually earns the menu's flag.
Mettler Family Vineyards Lodi Petite Sirah 2021
Most people scroll past Petite Sirah without a second look, but Mettler's version from Lodi is a serious, inky, full-bodied red that punches well above casual-dining expectations. It's the kind of find that makes you feel like you actually paid attention to the list.
Lindemans Bin 90 Moscato
It's a $9 supermarket bottle that shows up at every mid-tier restaurant in America. Not offensive, just a placeholder. If you want something sweet and bubbly, you can do better.
Côtes-du-Rhône Rouge 2019 + Pasta with meat sauce or braised dishes
A Southern Rhône blend — typically Grenache-forward — has the earthiness and red fruit to stand up to tomato-based meat sauces without overwhelming them. It's an old-school Italian-restaurant move that still works.
✔️ The Bottom Line
Bella Vista isn't trying to be a wine destination, and it doesn't pretend to be — but the pricing is fair, the glass selection is generous, and there are a few legitimate bottles worth ordering if you know where to look. Send a friend here for dinner without guilt; just steer them away from the Moscato.

Kitchen 76 is a wine destination that happens to serve excellent Italian food, not the other way around. If you're near Niagara-on-the-Lake and you haven't made a reservation here yet, fix that.

This is a chain wine list doing chain wine list things — nothing more, nothing less. If you're in Niagara Falls and care about what's in your glass, find a local spot; if you're already committed to LongHorn, order the Riesling and put your energy into the steak.

Koi is a perfectly competent casino wine list — safe producers, limited range, and markups that reflect the captive audience. If you're here for the food and the vibe, order the Riesling and don't overthink it.

The Western Door is exactly what a well-run casino steakhouse wine program should be — dependable, properly stored, and wide enough to keep everyone at the table happy. It's not a destination for wine lovers, but it's a solid Reliable that won't embarrass you on a business dinner or a night out before the falls.

La Cascata is the rare casino restaurant where the wine list doesn't feel like an afterthought — there's real Italian depth here if you look past the headline names. Just know you're paying casino prices for the privilege, and no one's coming to check on your glass knowledge.

Zaika isn't a wine destination, but the Niagara half of this list is a legitimate reason to skip the mango lassi and explore what's growing 20 minutes away. For Falls-area dining, that's more than we expected.

Osteria Georgi is doing something right with a focused, all-Italian list that actually respects regional diversity. The markups are a real buzzkill on bottles, but the by-the-glass program is wide enough that you can eat well, drink well, and leave happy — just order smart.

Michael's is a casual neighborhood Italian spot that quietly stocked its wine list with producers it had absolutely no obligation to care about — and the prices are fair enough that you won't feel punished for noticing. If you're passing through Niagara Falls and assumed your wine options were Yellowtail or nothing, this place owes you an apology.

Pietro's is doing more with wine than most Lodi Italian spots bother to, and the Italian bottle selection genuinely earns some respect. Price transparency would help, and the California side could use an edit — but if you're here and you want a serious Italian red with your pasta, you've got real options.
