Wingman Metrics
Nine wines. That's the whole list — and they're also the entire by-the-glass program, because there's nothing else hiding behind a bottle menu. You're in one of the most scenic dining destinations in the American Southwest and the wine program has the ambition of a hotel lobby minibar.
The list leans California and Italy, which sounds fine until you look at the actual labels: Wycliff Brut, Snap Dragon Pinot Noir, Cono Sur Red Blend. These are grocery store finds, not curated picks. There's a brief flicker of interest with the Pignocco Verdicchio from Marche and the Mocali Fossetti Toscano Rosso out of Tuscany — both are decidedly more interesting than their neighbors on the list. But ten total labels with zero depth by region, zero vintage information, and zero producer context tells you everything: wine is an afterthought here, not a focus.
Every bottle on the list is also a glass pour, so you get exactly nine options ranging from $11 to $15. The price ceiling is reasonable for Sedona, where you can easily pay $18 for a Meiomi. But the range is essentially the whole list, so don't expect rotation or anything seasonal to show up.
Kung Fu Girl Riesling, Columbia Valley WA — $13
Charles Smith's Kung Fu Girl is a legitimately good, widely respected Riesling at a fair glass price. It's the one pour here that punches above the list's overall weight — crisp, off-dry, and actually worth ordering.
Mocali Fossetti Toscano Rosso, Tuscany
Most people at a tavern in Sedona are reaching for the Pinot Noir or the Prosecco. The Mocali Fossetti is a Tuscan red from a small Montalcino producer that has no business being on this list — in a good way. It's the one wine here that suggests someone, at some point, was paying attention.
Wycliff Brut Sparkling, CA
Wycliff is bulk-produced California sparkling wine that retails for around $7 a bottle. At $11 a glass you're paying well over a full bottle's retail price for a single pour of something that tastes like it belongs at a mimosa brunch buffet. Pass.
Pignocco Verdicchio, Marche, Italy + Tavern Burger
Verdicchio's bright acidity and slight bitter finish actually cut through a juicy burger better than you'd expect — and it's different enough from the usual Chardonnay default that it makes the meal feel a little more intentional than the rest of the list.
The Bottom Line
Spoke & Wheel is a perfectly decent tavern to grab a drink after a hike, but the wine list is strictly functional — low effort, low excitement, low stakes. If wine matters to your evening, Sedona has better options.

Oaxaca isn't a wine destination, and it doesn't pretend to be — come for the rooftop patio, the margaritas, and the chile verde. But the list is priced fairly, the Torres and Ste. Michelle picks are dependable, and you won't regret a glass of Rioja with your enchiladas.

Yavapai is a reliable resort wine program done right — proper storage, knowledgeable staff, and a list that won't embarrass anyone. The markups are real and the list plays it safe, but if you lean into the Arizona selections and order smart, you'll drink well with one of the more dramatic backdrops in the American Southwest.

The Wine Deck at Hideaway House isn't winning any cellar awards, but it's doing more than most Sedona tourist spots bother to do — a local Arizona bottle, some genuine Italian representation, and nearly everything pourable by the glass. Come for the view, stay for the Tumbleweed Willy.

The Hudson's wine lounge is a reliable, comfortable spot that plays it safe and plays it well — you won't be surprised, but you won't be disappointed either. If you're looking for adventure in a glass, you'll need to look elsewhere; if you want a solid pour with one of the better views in Sedona, this does the job.

The Urbana Lodge isn't trying to be a wine destination and it knows it — but the pricing is honest, the by-the-glass selection is genuinely broad, and the Boordy Riesling alone earns it a second look. Bring someone who wants a glass of something familiar and won't complain about the lack of a Côtes du Rhône.
