Wingman Metrics
Thirty wines by the glass at an Italian restaurant in Sedona is not what you expect — this is a tourist town where most lists coast on Kendall-Jackson and call it a day. Cucina Rustica opens with genuine range across sparkling, white, rosé, and red, and the prices stay grounded enough that you don't feel punished for ordering a second pour.
The 66-label list punches above its weight for a mid-market Italian spot. There's a real international backbone here — Italian stalwarts like Monsanto Chianti Classico Riserva 2013 and Duarte Popie Barbera Reserve 2013 sit alongside Spanish representation from Emilio Moro's Finca Resalso Tempranillo and an Argentiera Vermentino from Bolgheri. The whites are a genuine strength: Villa Sparina Gavi di Gavi, Chateau Ste. Michelle Eroica Riesling, and Sauvion Vouvray give you actual Old World texture at reasonable entry points. The reds lean safe with Malbec and Merlot crowd-pleasers in the mix, but the Chianti Classico and Barbera picks show someone was paying attention.
Thirty by-the-glass options is generous by any standard, ranging from $8 for Cristalino Cava up to $15 for the Monsanto Chianti Classico Riserva. The spread covers sparkling, white, rosé, and red with enough variety that you can actually drink your way through a whole meal without repeating. The program reads like it was set thoughtfully and then left to run — no obvious rotation or seasonal additions, but what's there works.
The Bottom Line
For a tourist-heavy Italian restaurant in Sedona, Cucina Rustica's wine list is a genuine overachiever — 30 by-the-glass options, fair pricing, and actual producer-level thinking across the card. We'd send a friend here and tell them to skip the Moët gimmick, order the Chianti Classico Riserva, and enjoy the view.

If you're at Mooney's, you're there for the Guinness — and that's a completely valid life choice. The wine list is a placeholder, not a program. Order a pint, enjoy Sedona, and save the wine decisions for somewhere that's made a few of their own.

The Vault Uptown is a reliable place to drink decent wine with a genuinely great view — and in Sedona, that counts for something. The wine program won't blow any minds, but it won't ruin dinner either. If you're there for the red rocks and the filet, order a glass of something Californian and enjoy the moment. For serious wine exploration, look elsewhere.

Elote Cafe isn't trying to be a wine destination, but its list is better than it has any right to be for a 18-label program at a Mexican restaurant in a tourist town. The Arizona representation from Page Springs Cellars is the real story here, and the pricing is fair across the board. If you're in Sedona and care about what's in your glass, this is a better bet than most of the steakhouses charging twice as much for the same bottles.

89Agave is almost certainly a fun spot to eat — it's a cantina in Sedona, and the margaritas are probably doing the heavy lifting here anyway. The wine list, though, is purely functional and priced without much generosity, particularly at the higher end. If wine matters to your evening, order something simple by the glass and move on; this program isn't the reason to visit.

The Secret Garden Cafe's wine list is a perfectly adequate afterthought — familiar labels that get the job done when the real draw is the patio setting and Sedona scenery. We wouldn't send anyone here specifically for the wine, but if you're already there for the view, the Balleyana is your best bet on the list.

SaltRock is doing something genuinely worthwhile for a resort wine program: it's leaning into Arizona's emerging wine identity instead of hiding behind an all-California safety net. The markup is fair across most of the list, the glass selection is almost absurdly broad, and the local producers are the real reason to pay attention here. If you're in Sedona and curious about Verde Valley wines, this is a legitimate place to explore them.

Nuovo is a reliable date-night pick on Shrewsbury Street with an Italian-leaning wine list that won't embarrass itself, but won't surprise you either. Order something from the Veneto, enjoy the room, and don't overthink it.

Bellanico isn't trying to be a wine destination — it's trying to be the best possible ending to a meal, and the wine list reflects exactly that. If you're into the Italian after-dinner tradition, this list is a small treasure worth seeking out.

Bistro Giovanni's wine list is a solid companion to its food — international enough to be interesting, local enough to feel grounded, and priced fairly at the glass level even if the premium bottles get greedy. We'd send a friend here for a casual wine-with-dinner night without hesitation; we just wouldn't tell them to splurge on the high-end bottles.
