Wingman Metrics
The wine list at Saltgrass reads exactly like you'd expect from a Landry's-owned Texas chain — familiar labels, nothing adventurous, nothing offensive. What you don't expect is that the prices are genuinely below retail, which is rare enough in a restaurant setting that it stops you mid-scroll. This isn't a list built for wine lovers, but it's not built to take advantage of them either.
The lineup leans hard on national bestsellers — Robert Mondavi Private Selection, Josh Cellars, Kendall-Jackson, Meiomi, Decoy, Santa Margherita. Every label here is a grocery store staple, and there's nothing from outside the United States except the Santa Margherita Pinot Grigio sneaking in from Alto Adige. The one interesting note is the house Saltgrass Bordeaux blend, a five-grape, 60% Cabernet Sauvignon blend that at least hints at some brand identity. Don't come looking for Burgundy or anything old-world with depth — the gaps are wide — but the list covers its bases for a steak dinner crowd that wants something recognizable.
By-the-glass options appear to mirror the bottle list, with pours from the core lineup available at prices that are shockingly honest for a restaurant setting. Most glasses land between $9 and $13, which is practically BYOB pricing by modern standards. Rotation seems nonexistent — this is a set-and-forget program — but at these prices, it's hard to stay mad.
Decoy Cabernet Sauvignon — $13
Retails for nearly $22, and you're getting it here for $13. Decoy is a solid, food-friendly Napa Cab with enough structure to hold up to a ribeye. The math just works.
Saltgrass Bordeaux Blend
Most people reflexively order a name they recognize and ignore the house wine. The Saltgrass Bordeaux blend — five grapes, 60% Cab — is the one wine on this list that actually tells you something about the restaurant. Worth trying at least once before you default to the Decoy.
Santa Margherita Pinot Grigio Alto Adige
At $12 it's technically below retail, but Santa Margherita is the most overrated Pinot Grigio on the planet and has been for thirty years. There's nothing wrong with it — it's just thin and uneventful next to a steak, and you can do better with the $13 Decoy.
Decoy Cabernet Sauvignon + Lone Star Steak
The Lone Star is a seasoned, no-fuss Texas cut that wants a red with enough fruit and structure to match the char without overpowering the beef. Decoy's dark fruit and soft tannins are a natural fit, and at $13 a glass, ordering a second one doesn't require a conversation with your accountant.
✔️ The Bottom Line
Saltgrass Georgetown is not a wine destination — not even close — but it's one of the rare chain steakhouses where the wine program won't leave you feeling cheated. If you're here for the steak and want something decent in your glass at a fair price, you're covered.
Downtown Historic Square · Georgetown · Winery / Tasting Room
Georgetown Winery isn't trying to be a destination wine experience — it's a casual, zero-markup pit stop on the historic square where the drinks are honest and the prices are shockingly fair. Send a friend here if they want to relax with Texas wine without being lectured about it.

Grape Creek Georgetown is a one-portfolio show, but when that portfolio is priced at retail and the setting is this good, that's not a complaint — it's a reason to go. If you want Texas wine without the drive to the Hill Country, this square is your shortcut.

Golden Rule Annex is a cocktail bar that happens to have wine, and that's fine — especially when Friday and Saturday bring 50% off bottles. Don't come here expecting a deep list; do come here expecting a good time at a fair price.

Red Lobster's wine list is a corporate afterthought dressed in a laminated menu, and the Georgetown location is no exception. Order the Riesling, enjoy the biscuits, and save your wine curiosity for somewhere that shares it.

LongHorn Georgetown is a perfectly fine place to eat a steak; it is not a place to drink wine. The pricing is fair enough that you won't feel robbed, but the list is so narrow and uninspired that you'd be better off asking what's on draft.

We're not here to kick Olive Garden — the pasta is the point, and everyone knows it. But the wine program is pure corporate filler: overpriced grocery-store labels, no rotation, no effort. Order the frozen sangria and move on.

Timbermine earns its reputation as a reliable Ogden institution on the strength of its food and atmosphere — the wine list is just along for the ride. Come for the prime rib, order something red and Californian, and don't overthink it.

Ruby River's wine list is a utility player — it shows up, does what's needed for a steak dinner, and goes home. We wouldn't make the drive for the wine, but if you're already there for the prime rib, the Chateau Ste. Michelle will take care of you.

LongHorn Champaign has a wine list that exists so you can say you had wine with dinner — not much more than that. If you're here for the steak, grab the J. Lohr and move on; if you came for the wine list, recalibrate your evening immediately.
