Wingman Metrics
STK Nashville walks in with a 141-label wine list and immediately wants credit for it. Flip through a few pages and the illusion fades — this is a greatest-hits album you've heard a thousand times, curated for the table that orders Whispering Angel on reflex and considers Rombauer an adventurous choice. The list isn't bad, exactly. It's just working very hard to be exactly average.
The white wine section leans heavily on recognizable California Chardonnay brands — Rombauer, Sonoma-Cutrer, Bezel from the Cakebread family — and a trio of Sauvignon Blancs that reads like a grocery store endcap: Kim Crawford, Cloudy Bay, Twomey by Silver Oak. Bubbles get a respectable nod with Veuve Clicquot, Moët Impérial Rosé, and Domaine Chandon, though don't expect grower Champagne or anything that requires explanation. The red side of the list follows the same playbook — Bonanza by Caymus and Decoy by Duckhorn are reliable crowd-feeders but offer zero discovery. For a steakhouse running 141 labels, the gaps in aged Bordeaux, serious Rhône, or domestic Cabernet with actual terroir character are conspicuous.
Three — yes, three — by-the-glass options at $9 each. At a steakhouse with 141 bottles, offering three pours is either an oversight or a deliberate push toward bottle sales, and neither answer is flattering. The breadth of the pours is also unclear, making this one of the more deflating BTG programs we've seen at a restaurant in this price bracket.
Twomey by Silver Oak Sauvignon Blanc — null
Silver Oak's secondary label delivers clean, serious Sauvignon Blanc with name recognition that usually commands a higher markup elsewhere. On a list where markups skew steep, this one tends to hold relatively better value against its retail price and it's a step above the Kim Crawford sitting right next to it.
Ceretto I Vignaioli Di S. Stefano Moscato d'Asti DOCG 2024
Nobody comes to STK and orders Moscato d'Asti, which is exactly why you should consider it. Ceretto is a legitimate, respected Piedmontese producer — this isn't grocery-store Moscato. Low alcohol, delicate sweetness, fizzy enough to feel festive. Works as an aperitivo or a closer, and it'll cost you a fraction of the Champagne the table next to you just ordered.
Rombauer Chardonnay
Rombauer is perfectly fine wine that has been marked up to 'perfectly outrageous' at virtually every restaurant in America. You already know what it tastes like, and you're paying a premium for the brand recognition doing the heavy lifting. Spend the same money on something you haven't had a hundred times.
Sonoma-Cutrer Russian River Ranches Chardonnay + Filet Mignon
A leaner, more restrained California Chardonnay like Sonoma-Cutrer bridges the gap when one diner is having fish or a lighter cut while the table splits a filet. The Russian River Ranches bottling has enough structure to hold against the richness of a butter-finished steak without getting steamrolled.
The Bottom Line
STK Nashville is a nightclub that serves steaks and has a wine list to match the energy — loud, familiar, and not particularly interested in your education. Come for the scene, order the bottle that sounds good to you, and don't expect the list to surprise you.

Del Frisco's Grille Nashville is coasting hard on brand recognition with a wine list that a decent gastropub would be embarrassed by. Swing by for happy hour, grab a $10 pour, and don't expect anyone to help you think about what you're drinking.
