Wingman Metrics
The wine list at Ruby Tuesday Morgantown reads like the shelf at a gas station convenience store — except the gas station charges less. Seven wines, all nationally distributed brands you've seen in every grocery store endcap from here to Albuquerque, stacked next to the salad bar like an afterthought.
The entire program is built around entry-level commercial labels: Josh Cellars Cab, Kendall-Jackson Chard, Mark West Pinot Noir, Ruffino Lumina Pinot Grigio, Nobilo Sauvignon Blanc, Red Diamond Merlot, and Beringer White Zinfandel. There's no regional ambition here, no interesting producer, no reason a wine-curious person would feel anything other than mild resignation. The 'range' technically covers red, white, rosé, and a New Zealand token, but that's less a curated list and more a checkbox exercise. You could assemble this lineup in twelve minutes at Total Wine.
Two pour sizes — 6 oz for $6 or upgrade to 9 oz for $9 — applied uniformly across the entire list regardless of what's in the glass. That flat pricing structure tells you everything: nobody here is thinking about wine as a category worth differentiating. Rotation appears nonexistent; these bottles have probably been on the list since the last menu reprint.
Nobilo Sauvignon Blanc — $6 (6 oz glass)
If you're drinking here, Nobilo is the least offensive pick — it's a clean, bright Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc that at least tastes like a deliberate choice. Wednesday half-price makes a bottle reasonably close to retail.
Mark West Pinot Noir
It's no secret, but at half-price on Wednesdays this California Pinot is drinkable enough to not embarrass itself next to a burger. Low bar, cleared.
Beringer White Zinfandel
At a 542% markup on a wine that retails for essentially nothing, you are paying chain-restaurant prices for something that costs about the same as a liter of store-brand orange juice. Hard pass.
Kendall-Jackson Chardonnay + Chicken Fresco
KJ's off-dry Chard is soft enough to not fight the lemon-butter notes typically found in RT's grilled chicken dishes. It's not exciting, but it's the most coherent pairing on an incoherent list.
Wednesday — Bottles of wine are 50% off on Wednesdays at participating locations as part of Ruby Tuesday's national drink program. This is the single best reason to consider wine here — it brings bottle pricing closer to retail.
The Bottom Line
The only reason to order wine at Ruby Tuesday Morgantown is if it's Wednesday and you're splitting a bottle at half-price out of stubborn optimism. Otherwise, order a beer and save your wine money for somewhere that cares.
