Wingman Metrics
Eight wines, eight identical price points — $21 a bottle, $7 a glass, no exceptions, no producers listed, no regions named. The wine list reads less like a curated selection and more like a placeholder someone typed up in five minutes before focusing on what this place actually cares about: tequila. To their credit, $7 a glass is hard to argue with.
The entire list is eight generic varietal names — Cabernet, Pinot Noir, Red Blend, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Grigio, White Blend, and a Prospero Brut — with no producer identification on any of them except the sparkling. No regions, no vintages, no context. We have no idea what Cabernet this is or where it's from, and that's a problem when you're trying to make an informed choice. The Prospero Brut is the only wine with an actual name attached to it, which makes it the only pick we can speak to with any confidence.
All eight bottles are available by the glass at $7, which is the entire program — nothing is bottle-only, and there's no rotating selection to speak of. At $7 a pour, the price is doing a lot of heavy lifting here. Expect house-level wine at house-level quality.
The Bottom Line
Rosa Negra is clearly built around tequila and tapas, and the wine list confirms that wine is an afterthought at best. If you need a glass of something with dinner and price is the only criterion, $7 works — but don't come here expecting anything beyond the most basic pour. Order the cocktails and let the wine list do what it does: exist quietly in the background.

Perry's is a reliable steakhouse wine program — fair pricing, a broad glass selection, and enough variety to keep most tables happy without any real effort on your part. If you want adventure or discovery, look elsewhere; if you want a competent, frictionless list that won't embarrass you on a work dinner, Perry's delivers exactly that.

Fogo de Chão Dallas brings a reliable, if uninspired, wine list that leans on brand recognition over discovery — the Bodega Garzón Albariño and Zuccardi Malbec are the standouts in a sea of familiar faces. If you're here for the meat, the wine list will keep you covered; just watch the markup on the glass pours, which can quietly run up a tab. We'd send a friend here for the experience, not specifically for the wine.

STK Dallas is a place to be seen, not a place to drink well — the wine list is a predictable lineup of brand names with almost no by-the-glass program to speak of. Order a cocktail, or commit to a bottle and go straight for the Twomey.

Y.O. Ranch's wine list does the job without doing much else — it's a safe, brand-heavy selection that keeps the room happy but won't make any wine drinker's night. Come for the beef, order the Malbec or the Il Poggione, and don't overthink it.

Y.O. Ranch Steakhouse takes its wine as seriously as its beef, which is rarer than it should be. The Cabernet runs deep, the global bench is real, the Coravin program lets you drink up, the markups are fair for the tier, and the Texas section gives the whole thing a personality. Skip the trophy-label tax, lean on the Rioja, the Pinot, and the homegrown Texas pours, and you'll eat and drink like the buyer clearly intends.

Ellie's is a respectable hotel wine list that earns its Wine Spectator nod without ever threatening to surprise you — California crowd-pleasers at steep markups in a beautiful room. If you're celebrating or just want a reliable bottle with a great burger, it does the job; just don't expect the list to take you anywhere you haven't already been.

At $6 a glass, the price is hard to argue with — but when the entire wine program is two anonymous varietal labels with no producer or origin attached, there's nothing to get excited about. If wine matters to you even a little, order a margarita instead.

Gocha's Tapas Bar is almost certainly a fun night out for reasons that have nothing to do with wine. The list is short, anonymous, and shows no engagement with the cuisine it's supposed to complement — not a single Spanish or even European producer in sight. Order the sangria, enjoy the atmosphere, and don't come here hoping the wine list delivers.

Bar.bacoa keeps it simple and mostly gets it right — fair prices, a by-the-glass program that covers the whole list, and just enough Spanish character to feel intentional. This isn't a destination wine list, but it's an honest one. If you're in Virginia-Highland and want a glass of Cava or Albariño without overpaying, this is a reliable call.
