Wingman Metrics
The wine list at Midtown Social reads like a greatest hits compilation of grocery store staples — familiar names, accessible prices, and zero surprises. At 28 labels with 25 available by the glass, the emphasis is clearly on volume and approachability over depth or discovery. This is a bar menu dressed up as a wine program.
The list leans hard on budget-friendly brands: Proverb, Canyon Road, and the house pours anchor the lower end, while Bonanza Cab, La Crema, and Whispering Angel Angel represent the ceiling. There's a nod to inclusivity with Black Girl Magic across red, moscato, and riesling SKUs, which is a genuine differentiator, but the overall selection stays firmly in safe, recognizable territory. No regional exploration, no interesting producers, no old-world presence to speak of. If you came hoping for a Beaujolais or a skin-contact white, keep walking.
Twenty-five by-the-glass options sounds impressive until you realize most of them are just the bottle list poured by the stem — every bottle on the list appears to have a glass price attached. The $5 house pours (House House Cab, Chardonnay, and Brut) are a legitimate happy hour play. Beyond that, you're in $12–$15 territory for brands you've seen in every supermarket wine aisle.
The Bottom Line
Midtown Social is a bar with a wine list, not a wine bar with a kitchen — and the list makes that hierarchy clear. Pricing is fair relative to what's poured, and the $5 house glass program gives it a pulse, but this is the kind of list you drink from because it's there, not because it brought you in. If wine is why you're going out tonight, this isn't your spot.

Parkwoods is a dependable wine stop — nothing here will make you a convert, but nothing will embarrass you at a client dinner either. If you're already eating here for the fried chicken or the steaks, order the wine confidently; just don't expect the list to be the reason you came. The Backyard patio is genuinely nice, and a cold glass of something simple out there on a good Atlanta evening is its own reward.

· Atlanta · Seafood
Phillips Seafood isn't trying to be a wine destination, and the list makes that crystal clear. The pricing is fair enough that you won't feel robbed, and the by-the-glass selection is broad enough to find something drinkable — but the list reads like it was assembled by committee using the most recognizable labels available. Grab the Mer Soleil with your crab, skip the Whispering Angel markup, and temper your expectations accordingly.

The Family Dog prices its wine reasonably, and credit where it's due — $8–$9 a glass is honest money. But five unnamed, producer-free varietals is not a wine program; it's an afterthought. If you're here for the pub experience, lean into a beer and come back to wine somewhere that actually cares.

Edgar's Proof & Provision isn't trying to be a wine destination and it doesn't pretend to be — the list is short, familiar, and priced fairly for what it is. If you're here with a group that can't agree on anything, the fact that every bottle is available by the glass saves the night. Send a friend here for beer or cocktails; if they end up with a Felino Malbec or a Sea Sun Pinot Noir, they won't be unhappy.

Vinings · Atlanta · Gastropub/Tavern
Meehan's Vinings is a pub that happens to have wine on the menu, and the wine program reflects exactly that level of ambition. Pricing is fair and the by-the-glass selection covers the bases, but there's no depth, no discovery, and no sign that anyone thought hard about this list. Order a beer or a whiskey — that's what this place does well.

Snap Thai Fish House has no business having a wine list this size — and yet here it is, doing something genuinely useful by loading up on crisp whites that actually work with spicy, aromatic Thai food. The markups are steep across the board, so target the Riesling and the Jermann and let your wallet breathe a little. If you're eating Thai and want wine instead of beer, this is a far better situation than you'd find at most comparable spots in Atlanta.

Serenbe · Chattahoochee Hills · New American/Southern
The Hill at Serenbe isn't trying to be a wine destination, and it doesn't need to be — the setting does a lot of the heavy lifting, and the list is honest and functional enough to support a genuinely good meal. If you're making the drive out to Chattahoochee Hills for the food and the pastoral vibe, you won't be left stranded at the wine list. Just don't make the wine the reason you come.

· Cartersville · New American/Southern
The City Cellar & Loft is a solid neighborhood restaurant where the wine list is genuinely the supporting act — the bourbon pork chops and mushroom truffle ravioli are doing the heavy lifting. If you come in expecting a curated wine experience, you'll be underwhelmed; if you come in wanting a good meal with a decent glass in hand, you'll leave happy. Send a friend here for dinner, not for the wine program.

CONVO is a genuinely fun spot — lively atmosphere, solid food, and cocktails that clearly have someone's full attention. But if wine is your thing, this list isn't built for you. Order the Spicy Margarita, enjoy the wings, and save the bottle hunt for somewhere that's actually hunting with you.
