Wingman Metrics
Six bottles. That's it. At most restaurants, a list this short would be a red flag — here it reads more like a mission statement. Someone made actual decisions, and every pick feels intentional rather than phoned-in.
The list skips right past the usual Napa Cab and Sonoma Chard and lands in a far more interesting neighborhood: a Vadin-Plateau 1er Cru Extra Brut from Champagne, a Mâcon-Villages from Henri Perrusset, a Brand Dry Riesling from 2022, and a Pere Mata Brut Nature Cava to anchor the bubbles. The Paris Wine Co Les Athlètes 2023 signals they're paying attention to what's happening in natural-leaning French wine, and a 100% Albariño Sparkling Rosé rounds things out with a legitimately left-field pick. There's a clear tilt toward acid-driven, food-friendly whites and bubbles — which makes a lot of sense against Taiwanese flavors. What you won't find: anything tannic, oaky, or red, which is either a gap or a feature depending on how you eat.
Five of the six bottles pour by the glass, which is generous for a tight list. Prices run $13–$17 a pour, keeping things accessible. The range covers sparkling, still white, and natural-leaning options — more variety than most places with twice the bottle count.
Henri Perrusset Mâcon-Villages 2023 — $14
Perrusset is a legitimate Burgundy producer making clean, mineral Chardonnay in the Mâcon. At $14 a glass you're drinking actual Burgundy, not a California approximation of it — that's a genuine win.
Sparkling Rosé 100% Albarino
A sparkling Albariño rosé is a genuinely strange and wonderful thing — bright, saline, effervescent, and built for acidic, umami-rich food. Most people will walk right past it and order the Cava. Don't.
Vadin-Plateau 1er Cru Extra Brut Cuvée Renaissance
It's the one bottle-only option at $140, and while Vadin-Plateau is a solid grower Champagne house, dropping $140 on a bottle at a casual Taiwanese spot when the glass pours are this good doesn't math out. Save the splurge for a dedicated Champagne bar.
Brand Dry Riesling 2022 + Taiwanese Fried Chicken
Riesling and fried food is a cliché because it's true — the acidity cuts through the fat, the slight residual fruit echoes any sweetness in the brine, and the wine doesn't get steamrolled by bold seasoning. Brand is from the Mosel, so expect precision, not flabbiness.
The Bottom Line
Lucky Star proves you don't need a long wine list to have a good one — just a clear point of view and the restraint to stick to it. If you eat here and skip the wine, you're doing it wrong.
· Atlanta · Sushi / Omakase
Sushi By Bou is clearly here to serve great fish — and the wine list confirms that wine is very much an afterthought. Order the Dom if you're feeling flush or the Hampton Water if you're being sensible, and let the food do the heavy lifting.

· Atlanta · Mediterranean / New American
Rose & Rye isn't a destination for wine nerds, but it's a perfectly functional list for a date night where the wine is supporting the evening, not headlining it. Order the Crémant, avoid the Caymus markup, and you'll do just fine.

Hal's delivers a competent, Napa-forward bottle list that does exactly what a steakhouse wine program is supposed to do — just without much surprise or value mercy. Send a friend here if they want a reliable big-red experience; warn them to leave the credit card breathing room.

Nando's is here for the chicken, and the wine list knows it — eight uninspired labels that exist to check a box, not to enhance your meal. Order the Vinho Verde, enjoy your peri-peri, and don't overthink it.

Bici's wine list won't knock you sideways, but it's honest, Italian-focused, and fairly priced — a reliable partner to the food. We'd send a friend here and tell them to skip the Sauvignon Blanc and go straight for the Greco.

· Atlanta · Southern
SouthernNational is doing something genuinely unusual — running a tight, Europe-forward wine list inside a Southern kitchen, and mostly pulling it off. If you're tired of the same Sonoma Pinot and overpriced Malbec at every restaurant in town, this list is worth your attention.
