Wingman Metrics
Five wines. That's it. Five. The wine list at Tavola Trattoria is less a curated selection and more a shrug in PDF form. For an Italian restaurant, a country with 350-plus documented grape varieties, this is a genuinely puzzling level of effort.
The list leans almost entirely into sparkling and rosé — Moscato d'Asti, Prosecco, Franciacorta, Lambrusco, and a Negroamaro rosé. That's a very narrow lane for a trattoria. There's nothing wrong with the individual producers: Ca' Del Bosco is a serious Franciacorta house and Tormaresco is a credible name in southern Italy. But five bottles total, with no still reds, no whites beyond the Moscato, and no Chianti, Barolo, or Vermentino in sight, means the list is functionally decorative.
By-the-glass options are not documented in our sources, so we can't tell you whether a glass pour is even possible here. If you're ordering by the bottle, you have four confirmed prices and at least one bottle — the Saracco Moscato d'Asti — listed at $101, which is a significant markup for a wine that retails well under $20.
The Bottom Line
Tavola Trattoria's wine program is five bottles deep and priced without apology — $101 for a Saracco Moscato is the kind of markup that makes you consider ordering water and going wine shopping after dinner. The list has no still wines at all, which is a strange call for an Italian restaurant. Order a cocktail or ask if they have a corkage policy, because this wine list isn't doing you any favors.

La Tavola is an Italian restaurant with a five-bottle wine list that stops at sparkling and rosé — no reds, no whites, no depth whatsoever. The pricing on what's there is difficult to justify. Unless you came specifically for Lambrusco or Franciacorta, you're better off calling ahead to ask about corkage.

Midtown · Atlanta · Wine bar and bottle shop
Mac's Beer & Wine Midtown is a bottle shop doing more than it advertises — 142 labels, fair pricing, and enough range to reward some shelf-browsing time. It's not a wine bar destination in the traditional sense, but if you're looking for a specific producer or want to take something interesting home without a markup that makes you wince, this is the play. We'd send a friend here to shop, not necessarily to sit.

Downtown Atlanta · Atlanta · Cocktail and Wine Bar
Lumen Bar is a beautiful place to have a drink, and if cocktails are your thing, you're in better hands than if you're leaning on the wine list. The atmosphere delivers; the wine program, based on what we can piece together, doesn't earn the same score. If wine matters to you, there are better spots within walking distance of Peachtree Street.

Il Giallo runs one of the more thoughtful Italian wine programs in Atlanta — 35 by-the-glass options with genuine regional range is rare, and the pricing stays fair across most of the list. If you're willing to skip the comfort picks and lean into the Sardinian whites or the Abruzzo reds, you'll drink very well here. Send a friend who actually likes Italian wine; tell the one who always orders Rombauer to sit down.

AG is a genuinely strange wine program for a steakhouse, and we mean that as a compliment — if you're the kind of person who knows the difference between a Late Harvest and a 5 Puttonyos Aszú, this list will surprise you. Come for the red meat, stay for the fortified wine flight you didn't know you needed.

Taco Mac's wine list exists because legally it has to, not because anyone cared to build it. If you're here for the wings and the game, order a beer — that's what this place does well. The wine program is a Lazy List in every sense: overpriced for what's in the glass, staffed by a rotating crew unlikely to talk you through it, and assembled without a single interesting choice.

Wauwatosa · Wauwatosa · Italian
Bartolotta is doing something genuinely unusual for the Midwest — a focused, Italy-only wine list that favors regional specificity over safe crowd-pleasers. The pricing is fair relative to what's on offer, and standouts like the Vie Di Romans Ciampagnis and Ca del Bosco Franciacorta punch well above the restaurant's zip code. If Italian wine is your thing and you're anywhere near Wauwatosa, this list is worth a dedicated evening.

Sortino's punches above its weight class for a suburban Italian chain — fair markup, a genuine Italian backbone, and seventeen by-the-glass options give you room to drink well without a fight. It's not a destination wine list, but if you're already there for the pasta, you won't be stuck ordering soda.

Frank & Margie's wine list is doing something quietly ambitious for Round Rock — twelve Italian-leaning glasses anchored by real producers like Oddero, Principiano, and Collosorbo at prices that don't sting. If you're the kind of person who gets excited about Grechetto di Todi on a Tuesday night, yes, absolutely send your friends here.
