The wine list at Lolita's is exactly what you want from a hip neighborhood pizza spot — short, edited, and honest. Twelve bottles, twelve glass pours, nothing pretentious. It doesn't try to be a wine bar, and that's the right call.
The list leans into Italy where it counts — Masi Campofiorin from the Veneto, Allegrini Valpolicella, Querceto Chianti Classico, and an Invetro Super Tuscan round out a solid red-leaning Italian core that actually makes sense next to a wood-fired Margherita. California and New Zealand fill in the gaps without feeling like filler, and a Llama Malbec from Mendoza gives you that crowd-pleaser option without embarrassing anyone. What's missing: any Hudson Valley representation is a real miss for a Poughkeepsie restaurant sitting steps from the Walkway Over the Hudson. The Jacques Dumont Val de Loire is a smart, low-key inclusion that signals someone did their homework.
All twelve bottles pour by the glass, which is the correct move for a casual spot where people are splitting pies and ordering rounds. Prices clock in at $11–$15, which is genuinely reasonable for this region. There's no rotating BTG program to speak of — what's on the list is what you get — but the selection covers enough ground that you won't feel stuck.
Querceto Chianti Classico, Italy, 2020 — $38
Chianti Classico at $38 a bottle is a straightforward win. Querceto is a reliable Gallo Nero producer and this is exactly the kind of medium-bodied Sangiovese that was born to sit next to tomato sauce and char. The math works, the pairing works, order it.
Jacques Dumont Val de Loire, France, 2024
Most people coming in for pizza are reaching for the Malbec or the Chianti. The Jacques Dumont Loire — almost certainly a Muscadet or light Sauvignon-adjacent white — is the sleeper pick. It's the kind of wine that cuts through olive oil and cheese better than any California Chardonnay on the list, and nobody's ordering it.

Nothing technically wrong here, but an unoaked or lightly oaked California Chardonnay is the least interesting choice on a list that's trying to be Italian-adjacent. You're at a pizza spot — there are better calls at the same price point.
Allegrini Valpolicella, Fumane, Italy, 2023 + Detroit-style pepperoni pizza
Allegrini's Valpolicella is juicy, a little brambly, with just enough acid to hold up to the caramelized cheese crust and fatty pepperoni of a Detroit-style pie. It's a lighter red that won't flatten the whole experience — it plays with the food instead of fighting it.

Lolita's isn't trying to be a destination wine list and it doesn't need to be — the selection is focused, the prices are fair, and there's enough Italian backbone to make the whole thing feel intentional. Bring someone who wants a good glass with great pizza and you'll both leave happy.
