Wingman Metrics
At 140 labels and 26 by-the-glass options, the list at La Grande Boucherie arrives with some weight behind it. The French backbone is strong — Champagne, Loire, Beaujolais, Burgundy — and the list feels like it was built by someone who actually knows France, not just heard of it. The price ceiling hits $5,100 a bottle, which tells you something about the room this place is playing to.
The French coverage is genuinely solid: you've got Champagne from Henriot and Lallier, Loire whites from Sancerre and Vouvray, a proper Chinon in the Paul Buisse Cabernet Franc, and Beaujolais from Gilles Copéret's La Madone vineyard in Fleurie — a cru Beaujolais that most restaurants wouldn't bother sourcing. Burgundy appears in both white (Henri Dufresne Bourgogne Blanc) and red (Louis Latour Pinot Noir), though neither is going to make a Burgundy obsessive's pulse race. The Bordeaux corner is covered by Château Larose-Trintaudon Haut-Médoc, which is exactly the kind of crowd-pleasing Cru Bourgeois a big brasserie leans on. New World presence is light but present — Stonestreet Chardonnay from Alexander Valley, Cakebread Sauvignon Blanc, Leviathan's California Cab blend, and Hermann J. Wiemer Riesling from Seneca Lake rounding out the American corner with some genuine interest.
Twenty-six by-the-glass options is a serious commitment, and the range here is better than you'd expect from a Midtown brasserie. You can pour Lallier Champagne, a cru Beaujolais, a Finger Lakes Riesling, or a Grand Fossil Sancerre without opening a bottle — that's meaningful flexibility. The glass prices run $15 to $40, with the Henriot Brut Souverain and Perrier-Jouët Blason Rosé anchoring the top end at $40 each.
The Bottom Line
La Grande Boucherie earns its place as a reliable stop for wine in Midtown, especially if you're leaning French. The glass list is genuinely wide and has some smart picks buried in it — the Fleurie and the Wiemer Riesling both punch above their price points. Markups trend steep as you climb the bottle list, so your money works hardest in the by-the-glass section. If you're here for the brasserie experience, the wine program holds up its end of the deal.

· New York · Steakhouse
BLT Prime's wine program is glass-only, which limits your options if you came for a big bottle moment, but the pricing is honest and the selection is more thoughtful than most steakhouses bother with. If you're keeping it casual and ordering by the glass, you can drink well here without feeling taken advantage of — and that's not nothing in this city.

The Palm Midtown is not where you'd expect to find Puzelat and Ruth Lewandowski sitting next to each other on a wine list — which is exactly what makes it worth a second look. Six bottles is a short menu, but all six are defensible picks at prices that don't insult you. If you're in the mood to trust the list and not overthink it, this works.

Murray Hill · New York · Classic American Steakhouse
Wolfgang's is a reliable steakhouse wine experience in the sense that you know exactly what you're getting: a list built around the bottle you already know, priced for the room you're sitting in. If you're here to close a deal over a Porterhouse for Two, the wine list will do its job without embarrassing anyone — but it's not going to surprise you, and it's almost certainly going to cost more than it should. Go in with eyes open and a strong second-choice red in mind.

Zaytinya's wine list is a rare thing in New York: a focused, regionally coherent program that commits hard to Greek and Eastern Mediterranean varieties without making you feel like you need a flashcard to order. The by-the-glass selection alone — 18 options, all under $18, featuring producers most wine lists wouldn't touch — makes this worth visiting even before the food arrives. If you eat here and order a Cabernet, that's on you.

SoHo · New York · Italian
A long bottle list with Italian, Burgundy and Champagne sections, fronted by a 22-wine glass page. For a glass, try the Skerk Orange Wine from Friuli at 25/95, and for a bottle on a lighter budget, the Volpaia Vermentino at 60; upstairs in the café, the labeled list pours Palistorti di Valgiano's orange Tuscan blend at Glass $22. Confirm prices before you order, because the site's Upstairs Café dinner menu and the beverage PDF do not match. This unrated guide covers the posted wine lists, not service, storage or markups.
Midtown East · New York · American, French
A Park Avenue restaurant whose posted wine list is a 21-wine glass list. Start with the $18 Leitz Riesling or the $19 Ogier Saint-Joseph. No bottle list is posted online, so ask the restaurant what is available by the bottle. This unrated guide covers the posted glass list, not service, storage or markups.
· Miami · French Brasserie
La Grande Boucherie Miami is a Champagne list wearing a restaurant costume — deep on grower producers, light on everything else, and priced like it knows it has you cornered. If you are here specifically to dig into a blanc de noirs from the Côte des Bar or split a bottle of Larmandier-Bernier ($190/bottle) over dinner, this is genuinely one of the more interesting Champagne programs in Miami. Everyone else should order the Chablis and move on.

· Chicago · French Brasserie
La Grande Boucherie Chicago posts a French-led list with glass and bottle prices side by side, plus a numbered bottle list that runs from Champagne to Burgundy, the Rhône and Napa. Order the Bouvet Crémant at $60 a bottle with the Plateau de Fruits de Mer, or try the Alsace Pinot Blanc at $64 if you want a white that isn't Sancerre. The menu page is undated, so confirm prices before you order. This unrated guide covers the posted lists, not service, storage or markups.
· Kirkland · French Brasserie
Le Grand is doing something genuinely thoughtful inside a tight 21-bottle format — the bubbly selection alone beats most full-sized lists in the area, and the pricing stays honest throughout. Send a friend here, tell them to skip the Rombauer, and work their way through the glass pours.
